Well, MSQ cannot be cancelled, and it is not a new thing to know.
Why would I want to cancel MS quest though? Several reasons:
-In case of multi-choice, I want to experience the writing of all choices at once. Currently, you can only do this at the final step of MSQ, where it prompts the quest completion window that you can cancel and back to before the final step. Or, you can also do so if you intentionally end task your client as long as you don't end the conversation/cutscene to progress to the next step of the quest.
-In case of I forget to speak with a NPC before trigger the next step of the quest, which prompts the said NPC to walk away, or change his dialogue to something else. This is not something you can just have a separate chat tab to record, cuz you cannot record what are not said.
Visit inn's books is a miss-and-hit. There are cut-scenes that are not added to the book. And the book obviously doesn't cover the part where you chat with other NPCs for extra tidbits.
I know there is new game+, but new game+ only happens once you finish everything of the expansion, and it may take hours of questing + dungeon/trial runs to get back to the point you want to revise.
Play a new character is another choice, but it means extra monthly sub fee/go for six-month sub if same world, or play in another world where you have no house (assuming you have one)/FC members to play with. Let's not mention you also need to go through many expansions, or buy a boost + story-skips. All cuz you miss talking with a NPC.
Pretty much all of these problems can be resolved nicely by just giving players ability to cancel and re-pick MSQ.
