So playing through the Reaper 70-80 quest...they don't really explain how you got your avatar, or how you go about forming a pact. Did I miss something? Or maybe someone else can explain it to me?

Like it seems that avatars are sentient because Dris's protected her and she mourns for it. So I dunno it seems like a big deal

I feel like they might have made it seem like it's tied to the soul crystal?

I could be mistaken kupo, but I am pretty sure the Lore behind reaper is simply a class manifested by Yoshi. Could be wrong, but I remember hearing about this somewhere like he just you know liked the idea or something kupo. <3 kupo

Oh yeah, in the questline it's very obvious that they're something important. But ours? She went "Have a ghost!" and dropped it at that.

So I've heard theories after asking around, and this is the most consistent. Our Avatar is our 13th reflection. Like Ardbert was our first, so maybe reapers commune with their voidsent reflection? And the soul crystals act as anchors.
