Unlock Renaming Service

It would literally lock you from being able to log in at all. I imagine they'd have a lot more angry people "I spent money on a name change and I can't log in at all!"

Yeah I recognize that is why they don't.

And they are probably right too, doesn't change how I personally feel, but I do understand what is going on.

Right now, even if the service was up, during peak time there would never be a chance to log in because it wouldn't pull enough from the server to give you that option (Happened with my fantasia as well for awhile).

I would be dedicated enough to just set and alarm for 1AM log name change and then go back to bed.

I'll keep complaining about it until it's unlocked to be honest with you. If people are too stupid to know they have to log out in an inn room and do the name change during periods of low congestion then that's on them. Put a DISCLAIMER saying that rather than disabling the service altogether.

Or better yet, change how renaming your character works. WoW has you write in the new name on the website and when you log back in: Voila. Your name is changed.

If that was something their architecture allowed without massively tearing the game apart and putting it back together, they'd already have it.
