Waist items gone, where's the gil I spent on them?

I just finally noticed that my very expensive waist items, are GONE. Hundreds of thousands of gil just vanished, and yet.. I get no compensation for the removal of a highly expensive piece of equipment? Not just one, but across all my characters and classes? I've a lvl 80 character that had all exarch gear, and the waist pieces are gone. That's a LOT of gil for SE to just vanish at some whim of theirs.

So.. are we to get any compensation for these things, or are we simply ripped off of hard earned equipment and gil for same? because frankly, if that's SE's intent, I'll go find another game to play. I'm not ok with my time and effort being ripped off w/o some compensation for it.

*edit* Sorry folks, my bad. I've already stated further in the thread that this lack of knowledge was my mistake, and why I reacted so, well, abysmally for the first few of my posts in this thread. My apologies, and I hope those reading this will read further (around page 4ish and up). Thanks for understanding (if you read further as suggested).

It was literally in the news, patch notes, live letters, etc, since March. In the future, I advise checking patch notes/read the news ticker as you launch the game. No harm done here, but they could potentially save you from a future mistake.

Like for example you might want to look into upcoming changes to housing.

You know that's not going to be good enough for the OP. They spent the time and money on items that are no longer usable and they DEMAND compensation, despite being told for a year that belts would go away for Endwalker.

You know what, so do I. I spend time at work when its slow on the forums, or when I'm eating, or when I'm not playing the game, reading, or playing other games.

Every once in a while they have a live letter that is streamed live where they tell people what changes are coming. Mostly in Japanese but sometime with translation. There is usually a translation on reddit soon after, and an english summary on the lodestone. Many youtubers also go over it. I recommend following the official FFXIV social media accounts. (facebook, twitter, YouTube) as well as FFXIV content creators.
