I think that's a bit much to have npc's randomly tell you, since people don't even read those half the time when they walk by npc's lol. What if you don't go into town much? Then this complaint comes up unless it's in every zone like a shout or yell within your character vicinity. "Where does the complaint stop at any point" is mostly what I'm trying to get at. Most times, people aren't standing around idling in limsa (unless they're afk and actually botting or preventing afk kicking) and other towns. And most others are in the fields or hunts and dungeons, among other things.

I can go with that;

My main point was more being able to integrate more external things into the actual game. Like, some MMOs can just straight up load webpages into the UI if it needs to. It would be nice to be able to browse the mogstation, lodestone or official wiki directly in the game.

The irony is strong with some of these later posts. People are still piling on the OP for not reading anything about the changes, and yet they seemingly can't bother to read a thread in full before commenting and coming off like prats themselves.

Conversations and mindsets evolve, this thread is a great example, so at least take some time and read it in full if you're going to jump in.

OP. Even if your belt was still in your inventory which is still available... It would be worth almost nothing by now anyway. Gear becomes cheap / useless after a major patch where it gets replaced, in this case, an expansion. I spent about 20mil gil just upgrading my last set of crafter / gathering gear and overmelding it right before I left last time I played. Now they are pretty useless sorta, well most of the gear is anyway. The entire sets will be useless by the time they include the next major lifeskill patch. It's not a big deal, how long does a few hundred thousand gil take to make? 15 minutes? 30 minutes? lol...

Now that I have been caught flat footed by this game change, and being told it was mentioned repeatedly, I have a new festering wound. Now I have to read everything, every update, every patch note, etc that I can get my hands on from this point forwards. If you understand what that entails, then you'll understand that now, I have no choice. I have to do it. And I don't find that type of forced need (by me, not SE) thing enjoyable, I find it as a punishment.

No one is suggesting checking the Lodestone every day and reading every single article -most are just generic maintenance announcements anyway- but why wold you NOT read the patch notes (which are always on the giant banner on the launcher)? Telling you what's new and changing in the patch is literally what the patch notes are for.

never saw it in the launcher, and I don't do that other stuff you mentioned. I don't watch fanfest, or go to fanfests, I don't do producer live letters, I didn't have a forum account till today, and haven't even read the forums or anything on them until today. So no, I was NOT aware of it. I've never seen it in loadstone (prolly missed it as I was likely looking for other things and not looking for 'news'). And frankly, I launch the launcher, and start the game, because that's all I AM interested in doing. Not spending time reading blah bl;ah banned x rmt blah blah etc. Because that is literally the ONLY garbage I see in that section. So, sorry I wasn't up to date because I play a game instead of read about it.

If you are going to be a part of a MMOPRG community you may want to invest yourself a little bit in the actual community. I am not saying to join in on every single social media platform but at the very least keep up with the official website (the lodestone) for the latest news.
