    *EW SPOILERS* Thank You Koji-Fox!!

So, today I'm minding my own business, grinding out my main story on the Moon, along with my husband. We go into the building to get set up with a ship that can take us away from the Source. Who happens to be helping us? A load of bunnies, erm, Loporrits. I look at their names and their fuzzy ears and a loud "HOLY S**T" escaped my mouth. I got out my sweet Namingway minion who has always been on my bar since that first FanFest when the book became available and demanded my husband look at him, "no, not after that cutscene, NOW".
No one ever really knew who, or what, he was when we got the book. Just this cute bunny-like thing that likes to travel.
I proceeded to nerd out for a solid hour and a half. I repeated the story to friends (only friends that were past that point) until my husband finally told me to "shut up about the f*****g bunnies.

I just wanted to extend a thank you. We've had this guy for about as long as ARR+ FFXIV has been a thing, we knew nothing, and then at the end, it all goes full circle.

Thank you Koji-Fox. I know it was you who was behind this fuckery ;p

This story and the new characters we are meeting is one of your best yet Dev team, you delivered big time on this one!

You do know the rabbit folk that live on the moon have been a thing since FF4 and that Namingway is a character from that game. The loporrits arent something that were invented just for 14.

Maybe not, but they weren't really a thing in FF14 until Endwalker though.

Yes, but they haven't appeared in this game up to this point. They had never even been hinted about in FFXIV up until this point and I got whiplash doing a double-take when they came out and Namingway finally found his family, lol. The minion being dropped in at first Fanfest was definitely playing the long game, lol.

Namingway's tooltip literally mentions them, albeit in a very oblique "ha ha this was in another game" manner.

Still, once it became clear we were headed to the moon, I know a lot of folks did expect to see loporrits there. However, other folks had managed to avoid spoilers and didn't necessarily expect the loporrits, so I can genuinely see some pleasant surprise when folks recognized them!

(I admit, as soon as I got there, I pulled out my Namingway minion for the rest of my time on the moon, just in preparation for what seemed inevitable. Let the poor little traveler visit home for a bit and all!)

The part that pleasantly surprised me was some of the names; while lots of the NPCs were like "Anxious Loporrit" or whatnot, others did have specific names. In particular, the gemstone merchant being "Tradingway" was a joy to spot upon my arrival there.
