Same issue. Just very rare.
Same issue. Just very rare.
Yes, it's very rare for me. Incidents are maybe 4-5 hours apart on average. USB log viewer shows no disconnection of the controller or any other device until I physically unplug it.
I'm having the same issue since endwalker launch with usb connected DualShock 4 Sony PS4 controller.
I think it has something to with the changes to ps4/ps5 touchpad controllers as a sound device in the patch, though even though disabling the device as a sound device has no change in the game contstantly dicsconnected/refreshing the device.
Its especially annoying now trying to raid with a controller that could cut out at any second. But also because discord is also now recognizing the controllers sound capability and everytime ffxi refreshes the device discord goes searching again and pops up with the "do you want to use this newly connected device as an audio device?" "Switch to it, dont switch". you can "don't show me this again" but its still annoying knowing both apps are causing lag.

try turning off bidirectional communication, theres an issue with some ds4 controls via bluetooth when this is enabled
Platform?
Windows
Which controllers specifically did you try?
Xbox Series controller wireless, PS5 Dualsense via USB
When using wired method, did you disable any bluetooth options to avoid interference?
Yes.
Do you have multiple controllers or other 3rd party devices hooked up the machine?
No.
Did anything change in the computer's environment that may have contributed to the problem?
No.
Try running a clean boot on the machine to see if that may help (disable any programs that may be interfering with the game such as discord if applicable)
I did this and confirmed they weren't running via task manager.
I've tried all of the various fixes out there. I don't have Game Pass installed on this machine. This is the only game in which this issue occurs. It's also been getting significantly worse. At this point it's happening every 5 or so minutes and has rendered the game unplayable for me![]()
Platform? (Steam/Windows/Mac): PC

Wired or wireless connection: Both (Wireless is via the Sony Wireless USB Adapter, no other BT HW in the machine).
From my experience the stutter happens more often using the Wireless mode but is still there using an USB connection
disable steams Extended Xbox support driver in steam input config.I've had issues with Steam in the background causing my controller to switch input types. I don't play XIV on Steam but merely having Steam open at all has caused it.
Otherwise, every now and then in the FFXIV settings, it will swap from XBOX One Controller to XBOX 360 Controller under the settings menu and cause my controller to cut out. Swapping it back fixes it. No idea why it does this, thankfully it's not often.
It's been happening to me once and while using an LG F310 controller. I thought it was the controller but apparently not.
Continuing to be an issue. Every time my device manager detected a device change either by plugging or unplugging a peripheral (or by having a networked printer disconnect and reconnect every 30 seconds which I found out was causing my problems), FFXIV would lose access to the controller it was using temporarily before reestablishing connection. This would occasionally even change the selected controller if there was more than one controller plugged in to the PC to whatever controller was first loaded and if that wasn't the one you were using then you had to open the menu and manually change it back to the right controller.
This is a 100% reproducible error that affects FFXIV only, none of the other games I play with a controller. Confirmed across multiple different controllers with different wires plugged into different USB ports on multiple PCs. This is NOT a local PC problem, this is a problem with the client itself. If any dev wants additional information on reproduction steps I'm happy to provide them.
could someone try disabling the ds4/ds5 feature support to fix this? it got added in todays update and wondering if disabling this might fix it.
