Can't to fates while leveling - due to other players

I'm not super far into endwalker yet (lvl 82). I've been trying to get the 6 gold ratings from fates for faster mount speed. However, its nearly impossible to do this. Every fate that spawns has a legion of players fly in within 30 seconds and finish it in another 45 seconds. Basically, unless a fate spawns very close to me and I immediately notice, I won't be able to participate.

Are other people having these problems?

You could fly there too though? You aren't slower in the air. Unlocking flight is unrelated to ranking up your Shared FATE for the area.
Also you can join a party, people host Shared FATE farm parties in party finder all the time. It's a bit easier when you're with a group.

Since you're only 82 and can't unlock flying the most efficient thing for you to do would just be to continue doing the MSQ even at the slower mount speed. The speed you'd get from the riding map won't make up for the time you're trying to run after fates that pop. In other words, ignore fates until you're at or near 90.

I just stuck to the MSQ the entire way to 90, was 90 way before the end. I gathered the Aether in each zone as I leveled, doing the quests that held the others. I figured that's what most do while leveling, since makes your other jobs easier and faster to level as well.

True, but unlocking flight in an area is tied to aether currents, and the final aether current in a zone is usually gated by MSQ. The first zone you can unlock flight in is the third, because the first and second zones are split in half and you come back to them later. And even in the third zone you can't unlock flight there until you've been through the second dungeon of the expansion (at level 83), since if I recall correctly it's the MSQ mission taking you into that dungeon which gives you your final aether current for that zone.

If OP is only level 82, they really can't have unlocked flight anywhere yet in this expansion.

Once you have all of the quest aether currents you can ask a friend to bring you to the currents or go there yourself. Mount speed has nothing to do with how fast you move in-air, it's only on land. If you want to join a fate train, you should ask for an invite to the linkshell where the train is announced on where they will go next.

Definitely go to PF and get with a group. It's incredibly easy and efficient experience. If you can't beat em, join em!

I suggest getting your currents for flying first. Each current you pick up allows you mount ground speed to get a bit faster each time too.

To op the only thing you could do is ask someone in the map to help you get to the fates you need for speed mounts.

I just leveled normally through msq and did fates as they were close to my location. Was 83 and had labarythos mount speed and went back to the first area and got that. Don't have the garlean area speed though.
