Let's take a moment to appreciate Soken's amazing new music

Soken never fails to impress. He's one of the world's greatest composers in my opinion since he can compose incredible music in just about any genre and does so pretty fast.

Last year we learned about his cancer going into remission and that was heart breaking to hear that he was fighting cancer but at least he overcame it.

I don't know if Nobuo Uematsu still works on FF14 but I'm glad that to see that the world's best (IMO) is working on this game. As kids now say, the soundtrack is always bop after bop.

Oh and before I end this thread, let me ask you what is your favorite song in EW or even in all of FF14? Mine will always be Soken's own parody of "Lahee".

I've been love with the piano themes ever since Shadowbringers' night-time soundtracks. Badly want to learn them myself but no way I'll get close to the pianist (is it Soken himself? Not sure!).

I doubt many can ever come near his level because he will one day be remembered as a legend like Bach, Beethoven, Debussy, Mozart, Franz Schubert, Chopin etc... ;D

But you should definitively keep practicing!

YES!!! The music is absolutely amazing in this game, the work Soken has done has been incredible!

I just started playing this last year and as I've progressed through the MSQ, I've found myself procuring every releases soundtrack as I progressed just because I so thoroughly loved all of it...

I won't lie, it's hard to choose a singular favorite, lol. Lahee is most definitely a fav (I haven't heard of Soken's own parody of it, I gotta look that up!), but there's so many that have stood out, starting with ARR:
- "Answers" is just an epic classic, it's one of the first songs I heard from the game and it still rings in my soul
- "Tenacity" is a brilliant song to start the day out with, it's just LIVELY
- "Flibbertigibbet" is just incredibly fanciful and fun, makes me feel like giggling and prancing about in the faerie lands, lol
- Let's be real, nearly everyone is still in love with "Weight of His Will", "Weight of the World", and "Under the Weight" as an amazing boss soundtrack

Some favorites from Heavensward:
- "Close to the Heavens"
- "Painted Foothills"
- "Ink Long Dry"
- In general, this expansion felt very 'somber' to me, and the music reflects that incredibly well...

And Stormblood:
- "Crimson Sunrise"
- "Cradle" - Makes me want to go for a pleasant stroll in pretty neighborhoods ^_^
- "Gates of the Moon" - Gotta MOOOOOOOVE, hehehe
- "Wizardly" - Nerdy, geeky fun, and I'm STILL waiting for it to be available in-game
- Plus the re-imaginings of all of the Tactics soundtracks are great, in particular "Hall of Worship" (not sure if they ARE redone or not though, don't sound 100% the same to me so I think Soken did them up some but I could be crazy)

Plus Shadowbringers:
- "Battle" - It's a brilliant redo of an old-school standard in terms of FF legacy combat music, and I LOVE it
- "Everywhere and Nowhere"
- All of the main themes per expac are fantastic, but "Shadowbringers" really stood out to me
- "Sand of Amber"
- "Unchanging, Everchanging" - Beautiful song, almost haunting...
- "Figments" - More romping around with faeries!
- "What Angel Wakes Me" - Yeah, yeah, more with the faeries... but this one make me wanna Dance

There's just SO MUCH...

Although to note, I haven't gotten far enough into EndWalker to really appreciate all of it yet, although I'm loving what I've heard so far and greatly looking forward to more!

saaaame. the endgame city music may be the one you hear the most all expansion so it's gotta be good, and i just can't get enough of this one, i teleport to radz every chance i get.
