Are we no longer warriors... (Spoilers!)

On topic: for non legacy players, the title "Warrior of Light" is bestowed on us by the Eorzean Alliance's leaders due to how our actions reminded them of the "Warriors of Light" from Cartenau, themselves named because they can only be remembered as silhouettes against a bright light. For legacy players they are those Warriors of Light.

It's a moniker that turned out to be "more right than they could have known," but it is a moniker bestowed by current governing powers, much like how we're the Warrior of Darkness on the First. As far as the layman who knows of us knows we are the Warrior of Light.

Only ways we'd lose that title would be a "Stranger in a Strange Land" expansion where we wander intentionally to where our reputation does not precede us, or if the current governing powers were removed. Though in the latter case the name "Warrior of Light" might even remain, just used in fear or as a pejorative.

And I'm pretty sure we're not going to be "just adventurers". That ship sailed.

That said, we'll probably not see a world ending catastrophe again for a while.

I am sure we will see a world ending catastrophe in the next expansion. Maybe some aliens will attack us with a planet destroyer or something else. Or the omicrons will get an order to attack us and Omega awakes.

We are still the WOL. The only thing that is going to change is what plot we're going into next. How big or small it is we don't know yet. And another point... we never stopped being adventurers. :/

I mean Emett entrusted us to to continue to travel the world and meet its myriads civilizations. Its also Azems personality to indentify potential threats to our star and eliminate them. So we probably have lots of things to do with future threats as the plot demands it.

This is just a side note from me of something I liked. I liked when she said "may you ever walk in the light...." and didn't add "crystal" at the end. I found that very poignant since the crystal is now gone. What a journey it was. I can't wait to see where Yoshi-P and crew take us next.

Are we no longer Warriors of Light? With Hydaelyn gone, aren't we just adventurers again? The whole reason we were originally even given the WoL title was because Hydaelyn chose us, empowering and protected us against enemies that would surely have killed us without her intervention. It even shows her walking with us every step of the way of our journey, taking the blows for us. The only thing we have left is the ward she placed on us against aether corruption.

I felt incredibly saddened when we looked down at Azem's crystal and watched the last few sparkling motes of Hydaelyn dance away into the sky as her voice spoke "May you ever walk, in the light..." because it felt like saying goodbye to the past 10 years of my adventures and experiences on this game. I wonder if we'll continuously be known as Warriors of light in future expansions/content.

This is what let use do LB and be healed when we dead. One thing the story in ff14 did good is connecting game play elements to the story cannon. I hope 7.0 give use a fresh start in a different shard or even do a time Skip and make use start as a new character.

Clearly that's not all it did, since if you look at the post above yours you can clearly see an instance that it was used to heal us during an active duty (The heal is even called Blessing of Light) in fact during that same duty the light forms a shield that protects us against Ultima weapon's Ultima spell, (which would have eliminated us) so where you're getting off with the idea that it only protected us from the influence of primals is pretty wild.

It was Hydaelyn's doing not the spells.the spell is just a protection against primals corruption. You just missed this part in the msq where it was stayed clearly.
