Burst - Any Plans?

I'm not asking you to make me happy personally, it was a legitimate request. The majority of posters here don't feel it lives up to snuff and that it's damage is equal to Thundaga, so why would we post screenshots when we have nothing to prove? Are you asking us to prove that the damage is relatively close to Thundaga?

You have been very assertive that your Burst damage is stellar and that the rest of the community can't live up to your quality of BLM. Make me believe that, because I would genuinely like to. I would like to be wrong about Burst, because that means I need to retool my BLM and have our BLMs in my linkshell do the same. The burden of proof is on you to show that your Burst damage is stellar, us posting subpar Bursts does nothing. If posting your Burst damage is too much of a hassle, then please type out what gear and melds you have so I can compare it against what people I know are using.

You guys are taking what I said out of context, people have better gear then me and in no way did I say I am the best, I mean I am flattered you all feel that way.. but in no way am I the best, I simply stated I have good gear that allows burst to deal sufficient damage. Everyone jumps down my throat for little things, which I am cool about, but everyone seems to be ignoring every thing and going after me..

Its cool, I dont mind the attention, but to go as far as saying that I insulted so many people, or implying that I am the best, is a joke, you are literally taking small sections of my sentences and misuing the context.. so do as you wish, I expect no less from the 14 forums

I'm not sure you read what I posted in it's full context. The majority of people posting feel Burst damage isn't good and you do. You've said in this thread that people aren't putting up numbers because they're nuking in full or AF or, to quote you:

I'm not saying you have the best gear or you have the best player, but I'm not getting good numbers, so my gear obviously isn't like yours. What is your gear? I also have not jumped down your throat for anything, I have only made very polite requests that you post either your damage or your gear because I want to believe I'm wrong. I am 100% giving you the benefit of the doubt over everyone else and have not accused you of lying, but just providing me with anything to prove we are wrong. One kernel of information is what I'm asking for, but you are acting very evasive with me for no reason. I have made three posts in this thread not including this one and haven't done anything you imply in your post. So, again I ask nicely, will you please provide me with any information as to how you are getting decent numbers with Burst over Thundaga whether that be simply a screen cap of your damage, or you typing out what gear and melds you use?

Do you know what "out of context" means? Its when you take a section out of a statement and use it to misrepresent what was originally said. Something along the lines of "I think global warming is a sham" being take out of the sentence "'I think global warming is a sham' is a terrible reason to not address the clear pollution problems in the world"

The problem with burst is when executed properly its exactly the same as thundaga. Its a good spell, its powerful, but its so frikken boring. Why do we need a version of the same spell with a 15 min timer. Thats why i suggested before to add a party buff that would benefit close range DD players to it. Keep the damage, the damage is fine, but add a buff, at least then we wont have 2 of the same spell.

I think you will find you are correct, but lets be honest does BLM really need more damage output ?

If anything I would suggest they remove Thundaga and replace it with a single target Blizzaga?? spell for damage dealing.

Right now we have no Ice damage spells which makes me sad

I personally think BLM is too powerful as is, but I don't feel that's really the discussion. A quarter-hour should be worthy of it's recast and I don't think Burst is. Maybe it's not because across the board BLM is too powerful and if they scaled it back, then Burst would shine. They haven't given the impression they would though, so I'd like to see it adjusted accordingly or give BLM a new ability all together worthy of it's recast.

I already do damage and Burst just feels like a waste of time considering the output it gives.
A more useful party-beneficial ability could work better, or a potent DoT/Debuff/Enfeeble would also be great.

But all we know is, out of the thousands of BLMs. Synyster is the only one who can output decent damage with his superior setup, oh that's right, once every fifteen minutes, which in the grand scheme of things; is useless.

on garuda my top burst is 1700-1750 crit. my top aga is 1650ish crit not using potions, they are really close. Burst is powerful and in a short fight its awesome to have since aga has a long cooldown. Im hoping they at least enhance it with job weapon.
