Ring of Deceit (Mog inn quest) not available

Hi forum,
This is my first post after contacting support via email and GM calling, it was recommended to take myself to the Forums xD


Since the release of Mog Inns, I haven't being able to begin Ring of Deceit quest in Ul'dah for the mog inn access.


I've spoken to the NPC at the Adventurer's guild who only likes to repeat the idea that I am handsome and after the recent changes, I have also tried the Laffalell outside the mog inn entrance in the middle of Ul'dah called gold something.

I have also tried pre and post mog inn maintenance that was recent in early May, end of April.


I've been feeling at a disadvantage since linkshell members are maxing out new classes and i've been left behind from end-game content since nobody seems to enjoy taking Monks out to play xD I've had a lot of time invested in real life while still having an account active with the hope of leaving my character in the inn for XP bonus buildup until I came back ;-;


I hope that my issue could be remedied asap with another real life bracket coming up for overseas travel that I would love to invest on the inn's XP bonus!!

Would love any kind of advice, suggestion and/or discussion ! Cheers!

It'd be pointless for you to do that quest anyhow as you currently cannot use the inn in Ul'dah. They've been down for quite some time. My suggestion, don't waste your time on it now, and do it in gridania or LL, as theres really no need to do Ul'dah's. Perhaps thats the reason why you are unable to do the quest in the first place?? Cuz they are currently down....

That's right, you're not getting in-game tips from support staff or GMs, so no need to laugh about it.

That's up to you. It seems you have skipped Main Scenario quests all the way and Patch 1.21 Notes aswell:

Players must first complete one of Treasures of the Main, Souls Gone Wild, or Court in the Sands main quests in order to accept the following inn quests.

· The Ink Thief (Limsa Lominsa)
· Waste Not Want Not (Gridania)
· Ring of Deceit (Ul'dah)

That's pretty odd, my character is currently sleeping like a teddy bear @ Ul'dah's Inn Room...

PS. IIRC, Ul'dah's Inn Rooms are up since last patch Mind you, as stated on Patch 1.22 Notes, the entrance to the Hourglass inn in Ul’dah has been moved to the Merchant Strip (6,5).

The problem is that many people don't realize that due to zone congestion, they MOVED the entrance of the Uldah inn.

If you go to the center of the city map, first floor near the big central fountain, there is the Inn npc. you should be able to access the quest and inn from there.

Sorry I was still under the assumption that the Ul'dahn inns are still down. Apparently I was misinformed. Unlike OP, I thoroughly read patch notes, so yeah was totally aware of where they moved the uldah inn.

That's right for inn room access, but not for the quest. Ring of Deceit is issued by Otopa Pottopa, located at the Adventurers' Guild.
