Making it stay off the market board is the way of helping keep other players from having it ruined.

They seem to do it for other minions too, like the Tiny Troll minion.

Well at least it prevented me from the temptation of selling the minion for oodles of gil. I was lucky enough to get the minion on my first run that I just decided to do trust to see the NPC banter/dialogue.

A lot of the minions have the Unique/Untradeable tag not for spoiler reasons, but to prevent someone from rolling when they already own it. It just seems to be one of the ways that they've tossed into various dungeons/raids/etc to keep people farming them forever so new players can have easier queues. It's been like this in the storyline dungeons for quite a bit now.

The minion description you can only see if you own the minion and are looking at it in minion guide.

Because they know people typically avoid directly queuing into the final dungeon unless there's a highly desirable reward. They did this in Stormblood too, which makes me think the Magitek Predator mount they gave us wasn't enough of an incentive to keep Ala Mhigo popping. I'm actually surprised they don't put rare drop mounts or minions in the trials. You almost never see Innocence and it'll probably be the same for Hydaelyn, sadly.

I think this is the real reason. If it was actually spoilers they were trying to avoid, then they did a really bad job with like 100 other minions that are tradeable.

Literally all they have to do to resolve that issue is spoiler flag the text until the player has finished the 6.0 main story. Even mobile games like Genshin do such a simple thing.
