Some people actively ignore this no matter how many times it's brought up. They keep saying SE have money so they obviously can fix the issue. They don't want to understand that you cannot buy something that doesn't exist. They don't want to understand that a pandemic further complicates this. They don't want to understand that the WoW exodus to this game happened at the worst possible time. They don't want explanations. They just want things fixed right now and no amount of excuses or reasons will get through to them.
I'm not saying I'm happy about any of this but I don't see the point in getting angry with SE over something they literally cannot fix and is entirely out of their hands. God they even cannibalised their own dev back-up servers to help with the queues. That's how bad it is. They have literally put their development at risk just to allow more players online. And yet many people say SE don't care. Why? Because if it's not perfect now then it means SE don't care. Their perspective is entirely black and white.
The ethics of the matter is arguable, literally. It'd be a subject of debate. And the queues are absolutely frustrating, no doubt on that. But it is definitely not illegal. Pretty much every online game has in its ToS/User Agreement (that you agree to) that access to service is not guaranteed. Compensation, when it happens, is generally a matter of establishing good will/defusing disgruntled fans - it's not a result of legal requirement.
No online service promises 100% access 24/7. Courts no matter the country understand this as such this problem would need to persist for far far longer before you would have any chance at a winning case. Compensation, refunds and SE efforts to resolve it further make it unlikely of winning a case against them. As of the moment if you tried you would be left with your own court and lawyer fees alongside SE's.
Note: Taking advice from a players alt, is like taking advice from a voice in a dark room. Criticism is a two way street remember that!!
these posts were entertaining the first week of the expansion launch but now their just annoying
Now this one is just funny as hell...
We may be short on silicon & chips but abundant in tin foil lately.
Hmm. But the queue times are the only thing currently wrong. Isn't the cumulative wait time for those queues less than the several months (or more) you'd have to wait for new servers? And if you cannot play at all until the queue times get better because of your schedule, you'd be waiting for that either way. At least this way many/most people, those who are able to wait out the queues, can play now.
