People advertising they're running Parsers

Except it's time for a bit of truth over the new EX trial parsers especially.

I'm now the highest achievable iLevel with a fine tuned build, still fine tuning my rotation and always pull my weight, but my parse is only green...

I checked to see if this was on me, but then I noticed something after checking the purple and orange parse results in my job....

Sorry, but I've looked over your stuff, and it's still definitely on you, regardless of what others may be doing. You're missing a lot of GCDs, weaving as many as 9 abilities in between GCDs, messing up DoT uptime, and never applying Iron Jaws during your Raging Strikes window, just to name a few. Even if they are 'underperforming' by your standards in adds phase (which 1) they aren't, and 2) does count right now, by the way), there's plenty of room for improvement in your own rotation that I would focus on that first, and I wish you the best.

My own thoughts on this.

I'm always far more impressed by a player who acknowledges where they can improve and work to overcome it, because then you will know they will be up for future challenges, ready to put in and learn, as opposed to someone who thinks they are at the peak already.

How often can you warm the floor and still kill the boss without anyone being allowed to say anything more than "good job!" before you start believing that warming the floor was indeed a "good job"? Square Enix enables and supports these people to get carried by others to the point that they start believing in their own delusions of grandeur.

One thing the game does need to do, and why parsers are useful. You cannot see what your crit chance, direct hit chance, or direct crit chances are with out a parser.
I like parses too cause you can check it out FFanalysis and see what abd where you can improve on your gameplay and what sort of things you are doing wrong, how often you are doing them wrong, ways to improve uptime ect.

It's great having the fat kid on your team until your entire team gets benched because the fat kid made infinite mistakes and you no longer get to play in the first place. It gets even better when the fat kid is the one who starts complaining about others being bad, because he's a delusional prick and has been carried so many times that he thinks it's through his own merit.

I value my time. I don't want to spend that time not playing because others who got carried to their kill by either friends, excessive time spent in PF until carried by a group, or otherwise, are ruining every attempt by not actually being good enough to deal with the mechanics, nor their own job. Until the game offers a method to filter these players from the party finder, I will keep being grateful that there are individuals who have the guts to proclaim that they'll filter their group to ensure everyone present is having a good time.

Why does the kid have to be fat? Body shaming isn't really needed in that example and makes you sound like that teenager that was picked on for being fat.

If you're doing a group school project, who would you rather be working with, the person scoring As or the one scoring Cs? And no, you don't know their attitude, the person getting As can be the most humble being on earth and the person getting Cs the lazy arrogant prick who thinks he deserves better without putting in the effort. In my experience, the latter is incredibly common in FF14, and people in this thread are trying to stop you from choosing who you get to play with, only giving me more reason to think they're angry that folks don't want to carry them to clearing content they don't deserve.

And in culture of openness, those who are free to enter are also free to leave. Polite excuse, maybe even a white lie is enough to make it a non-issue. It is still possible to enter those highly skilled social circles and play with them exclusively, but none of that requires exclusion of others in "public places".

Because while being bad at video games and hitting enrage after enrage might be frustrating, that is only video game stuff. Nobody deserves to be then additionally harassed on top of it. There is a massive difference between playing Sekiro and dying, and being verbally attacked by teammates in League of Legends.

I pay a monthly fee to play this game. I would not call anything in this game a public place.

They are doing absolutely horrible dps during both EX add phases (some drop as low as 2k dps), because unlike previous EXes the add phase doesn't count toward your result and guess what that means?

Umm, yes it does. Either you've been fed entirely false information or how absolutely no idea how to read that particularly site and how its metrics work. The current top ranked group, of which everyone but the Sage parsed between 97-100 totaled 37,000 rDPS during adds. They even LB'd. I'll go you one better and link to Momo Sama's speed kill of EX2. (Obvious spoilers for those who haven't cleared the MSQ yet). You can clearly see during adds they pool all their raid buffs together. Before you say, "Well, that's a speed kill!" Yes, and it netted Momo 99%.

Add phases are only ever omitted f they have a static time limit. E8S would be an example of this. No amount of DPS will push that phase faster, thus making it advantageous to hold all your buffs. They specifically removed phases like this to address raid buff alignments being thrown off. Other examples are lengthily forced downtime. Neither current Primal has its add phases omitted.
