Hello.

I am new, and was invited to play this game by my friends because they told me the game is genuinely good. I usually not into massive multiplayer rpg's but they have told me that it can be like you are playing in single player since the story is very good.

So I've decided to buy the game. I bought the complete collection which gives me 30 days game time.

For the first day I could not create any character on Europe region, especially on the realm my friends I played it. I stayed up all night and managed to create character in Louis.

I managed to level up to level 30 and enjoying the story so far, and how I am just a regular adventurer, and not a big shot, the lore is also good so far, however I am a working man, and once i come home , I am constantly in queue for several hours, even though I never got any errors that you have mentioned like, error 2k (I guess thats of my fiber optics 1gbps) but i still have to wait 2-4 hours to get into the game. Usually I manage to get into the game at about 2-3 am at night, which effects my daily life since the next day i am dead beat .

1. Frankly, I don't really care about other companies or game publishers and their past reputation, as a new customer, even if the past reputation of the company IS good, the services I am currently receiving are not good at all, or rather the services I am not receiving. It feels like I bought a ticket to disney land, but to enter it I have to wait half a day, more then that there is a time frame term of how much time I can be in the park.

As such;

1. Is there any official statement of when the issue will be solved? Not "We are working on it" but, actual explanation what is being/was done up until time, and placeholder dates for them to update us?

2. Will I get the game time I lost? I bought the game after you all received 7 days compensation.

Again as a new customer ,currently they doesn't look good in my eyes. A good company should always have a backup plans to solve its issues. ( or did they really did not believe ever in their games success, so that they never had a plans to immediate expansion on case of rise in popularity? )

Well that's a bit tricky, to be frank it wasn't the best idea to buy this game right with the start of the new expansion. I guess things would have looked much better if you had waited a month. I think we all will get a compensation sooner or later, because there is no excuse for how things are now and if they don't want to totally screw their reputation they will have to do something. I honestly dont care if Yoshi P crys tears in a Livestream and says he is sorry a thousand times. I paid for something that i can't use (except i log in and play in the morning), end of the discussion.

Expectation and Reality are two different things. Reality says the servers will not be always be accessible,Expectation says they should be while ignoring the factors of reality. One is bliss and one is the sad truth of the world..

I agree that people are right to be frustrated, but I disagree that there isn't a good reason for why they can't immediately fix it, and I cannot condone the people demanding that things are fix immediately as if Yoshi P can use creation magicks to conjure hundreds of server machines out of thin air. Global chip shortage is hitting nearly every industry hard, many considered more essential for daily lives than video games.

Sry, i know what you mean but i cant hear this lame chipshortage excuse anymore. The lack of servers and the issues we have right now where well know long before the chip shortage even started. The only difference back than was that it wasnt this dramatical during the release of the previous expansion because FF14 wasnt this popular and the advertisment wasnt this effective. It was well know months before EW was released that there werent enough Ressources and they still lured in as much players as possible and didnt even put a stop free accounts during the release to at least reduce the upcomming issues a bit. Sure as a company SE wants to make as much money as possible, but they also have to make sure that everyone who buys there product can use it. If someone sells a product that cant be used or just under specific circumstances and dosnt let you know before the sale its false advertisment.

I like SE because they make a lot of games i like but deffending them for something that could be prevented in time and saying its not their fault is simply wrong. Its like selling you a car without letting you know that there is no key.

The Endwalkers expansion launched just over a week ago for earlier access and just days ago officially. A lot of players are trying to log on all at once right now and the servers struggle to handle it. The games population has been growing and had a sudden, very expected boom in population size. SE and FF14's dev team were caught off guard by this sudden large increase in the player base. They have been working since earlier this year to get more servers up and open a new Data center. But it has not been going very well for them or as they hoped it would. They had hoped to have them up before Endwalkers launch but were not able to get the hardware they are still trying though. It may be hard to believe but Que's are improving but very slowly and depending on your worlds population you may not notice it yet. Several fixes have been put in place to help solve the 2002 error issue but there are still circumstances where it can happen.



They have done what they can solution wise to solve the 2002 error and continue to work on it. I understand your frustration as you are not alone a lot of players are experiencing the same problem.

The reason why you cannot log in is because there are more people that are playing than what Square Enix wanted or predicted. They manage server space through projected growth. Anyone who starts playing past that point is an unplanned addition. Normally, profit-seeking companies want as many customers as possible, but at the present time, Square Enix cannot accommodate those new players. Personally, I think the game should be taken down from the store until it can accept new players. It’s dishonest marketing to sell a service to customers when said customers can no longer be accommodated. Until then, I’d advise that new players turn away from the game and not play or buy until Square Enix expands server capacity or the game falls in popularity, both of which may take months.

Didn't your "friends" tell you that this is currently the most popular mmo and that the launch of a new expansion would cause most people to be stuck on queues?

Yeah it is tricky as being said already.. you might want to give it some time now before it normalizes again.
A bunch of stuff came together for this expansion launch.

Welcome! No eta, unfortunately. You'll be able to enjoy it eventually. It is really a shame that some worlds are more full than others. I know it sucks not to be able to play with friends. Playing with strangers and making new friends in game is also fun when you cannot play with your irl friends.
