Being worked at a few of those 'big' companies and labs... It's not that simple.

The larger they are the smaller each group are. Sure, each group can expect to have much better stability than being a small company with the same group members. But in terms of daily operation, being in a small group in a large company do not really feel like you own the world at all. Heck, every single group leader I worked with always said: "If we take this same group and establish a start-up, we will definitely go bankrupt within a year."

To get more servers for FFXIV, its director is the only hope for fighting against other group leads and executive members. But the group leader also needs to consider his/her own internal politics as well. They say game developers are much less lenient on those politics, yet, money always cometh with politics, deep politics if it's million dollars worth of investments such as buying server infrastructure or cloud service as B2B.

At this moment, there is no other way than pushing SE as a paying customer. Any other argument doesn't help the situation.

I can't raid yesterday. I ate 2 aoe due to lag spike and saw party members "teleporting" . I thought server was overloading. I went on and spam regen on myself. There was some random lag spikes. I browsed the internet and the lag spike was still there. I've concluded my internet has issues instead of looking for for SE. Time to check with my ISP.

I don’t think this discounts other people’s experiences and I wouldn’t call this pettiness. This situation might be complex and not really anyone’s fault but people having a bad experience do have a reason to be upset.

I understand OP frustration.

What i cant understand are some saying that have a lot of money can fix everything in the world. Cut all threes and drain all water to a point that there's no place to find it, money doesn't matter if you cant find anywhere what you need or spend money on.

You know 1 one reasons making semiconductor short? More people using PC at home, today there's much more people buying PC, in a way that manufactures never seen before, not just pc, but cellphones etc. The demand of Tec today its huge. Add the pandemic, with financial crisis everywhere, some loosing jobs, a small company cant succeed if there no one to work on it. Those who never thought about creating a busyness in the web, are learning how do so, so more demand of TEC and Internet.

We are here complaining about games and consoles, but at hospitals many equipment's also use these semiconductors. Whos knows if hospital need replace one with these, and i bet wont be easy.

Funny you should say that... Cause I know quite a few people that have paid for cars and aren't getting them till sometime next year due to the shortage. (You learn these things when you're actually part of car clubs.)

Actually, I just went through this before Endwalker dropped, just got a new car lmao. It took a few months of searching since there's so little to choose from. Also had to pay $200 to have one delivered in from another state since we picked a model, but it just wasnt available at all here. I had two options. Complain, stomp my feet, and tell them I shouldnt HAVE to pay extra when I'm ALREADY paying $35k and how with all this money I'm paying, I certainly shouldnt HAVE to wait WEEKS for it to get here or just shut up and wait patiently for the car I wanted. I shut up, because either I was stuck with an old car for a few more weeks while I waited or I was stuck with it until covid ends which is when?????? Do you really think all these shortage issues are going to end in under a year? What, should SE have delayed Endwalker until covid ended?

I'm really gonna need someone of you to actually think a little harder please, I don't feel like I'm asking for much.
