It's fine to unsub and feel frustrated. Honestly, if you can't find the time to log in then you should unsub until the congestion lessens. However, people need to temper their expectations with reality; the global chip shortage makes getting servers difficult, especially at the scale that FFXIV needs, a single world needs tens of servers.

Mine comes to an end Friday. If/when things start to right themselves, I'll be back. No animus, though I'm very sad about it.

You are probably taking this in probably the best way possible. Really wish more people would take after you.

As for when, they did state in one of their announcements that it would likely take some months before they get the server machines they need (and that is with them ponying up extra money), but I would check (don't resub, just check on how things are being handled) in again within a month to see if the server issues subsided. Only resub when you are sure you can get in sufficient game time. If I didn't have the flexible time schedule that I have, I wouldn't remain subbed either.

I fully expect that, at best, for reasons completely out of SE's control. On the plus side, I'm getting to say "I told you so" a lot re: putting most of the world's chip manufacturing capacity in one basket.
