People by nature are greedy. Nothing wrong there.Bunch of hypocrite people complaining about undercuts.
Why do I dare call you that? Because your all a bunch of greedy a holes. I bet you cry babies buy undercut items! Try arguing with me that you will buy a 600k item when someone undercuts it for 550k! Everyone is GUILTY of buying undercut items anyone dare say they don't only lie to themselves.
I hope MODS lock this worthless thread.
ITT: People with no grasp of competitive (or any) economics or experience with fixed-price economies trying to run cartels, price fix the economy, and to stamp out "evil undercutters".
By the way, I'm still waiting for one of you anti-undercutter loudmouths to challenge me on this point.LOL like that's ever going to happen.
The people who complain about undercutting have this ridiculous double standard where they expect to have the easiest and best solution every time. They're okay with buying the cheapest item because it's the first on the list and they save money, but they also want to never have to re-list their items, for their items to go fast, and to get more for them than their market value.
If I want something to sell fast, I'ma make sure I'm selling it at the lowest price on the server that day.
The game s**** money at you from day 1. There's no reason to be greedy here.
I don't see how their comment is dumb it's just how the market works. You make your product look more appealing by selling it for much less rather then a minuscule amount. You make it sound like this doesn't happen irl, but wait don't we have things at stores called sales? This is the dumbest comment ever. Because, more people will continue to undercut and drive the price to the ground. Look at the big picture genius, if they buy it for 8mill they'll buy it for 9,999,999 gil as well.
Undercutting is fine.... and great.
Undercutting by 10-20% is stupid it drives the price down way too fast, and eventually the items aren't worth the time and effort.]
And this is why I stay in the double/triple meld business, because people don't like chance money. And we make our own prices.
Quick example, Google Canon Pixma MP280 All-in-One Photo Printer, now look at the variation of pricing on it from 25-100 dolalrs based on where you buy it from. As a consumer where are you gonna go, to the cheapest one of course. So I guess the business is stupid for selling it at such a low price just to make money off it? The reason why prices are competitive is because everyone is stocked on it so they have to find a way to get rid of their merchandise and beat the competition.
In 14 this is done by selling at a lower price. Sure cutting the price by 2mil is a lot but at the same time that seller gains the opportunity to have a consumer who may be willing to pay 8mil for it rather then 10mil.
You assume that if a person buys it for 8mil they would have bought it for 9,999,999 mil but that's just not the case. Their are consumers who may look at a product and think it's to much and wait for it to go on sale, or what we call undercutting, but when that sale kicks in they will be right on it to buy it, perhaps they put a 9mil limit on themselves, well it's 8mil so it works for them. Maybe another consumer is only willing to pay 5mil for a product so they won't buy it for 8mil, or rather they continue to save up to be able to buy it. It all comes down to everyone thinks about it in a different way there is no right way to think of the market.
Some people want to make a quick buck others want to make max profit, both work to an extent but no concept is without a fault. A quick bucks limits the amount they earn but at the advantage of selling quick while one who sells for a high price makes more gil but take more time.
In the example above let's say the stock of the followin items was
Store A=10 at 25 dolalrs
Store B=5 at 90 dollars
Store C=3 at 50 dollars
Store A sells out in 2 weeks, so they made about 250 dollars, Store C sold out in 2.5 week and made 150 and finally Store B sold out 2 months later and made 450. While Store B made the most out of it they had to wait longer to earn that profit and sometimes people don't want to wait that long just to make a few extra bucks. It's the same thing with an in game economy sometimes people don't want to wait it out, a profit is a profit, it's better then letting the item stagnate or risk it becoming obsolete.
In the same instance let's say said item was worth 30 dollars. So in that scenario Store A loses 50 dollars but it's better then losing 300 dollars, in the same instance a person who may craft then sell at a lower rate does it so they make gil back rather then lose it completely. When one crafts a lot of an item they are setup with 3 options, They can sell it for profit, sell it just to make some gil back or NPC it and take the loss. Sure it cost 50k to make and I'm selling it back for 30k but at least I'm making that 30k back it's better then losing 50k. I can then use the profit of selling 2 to buy another and continue skilling up if needed.
So ya, your "dumbass" comment is mistaken lol it's playing the economy.
Lol...who said anything about crafting?was agreeing
Im not going to sell +1's for 400k less then what people are buying that item for, but at the same time, i dont feel 800k profit off one item is fair either,
500kis fine with my morals.
as far as all 50s. was making a point of what is that time worth, before good leves, took 60 hours to grind a craft to 50 and now its still high at around 36 hours.
If the profit of making items gets too low from undercutting, i stop making them.
If im reading you right,
you would need a 50 craft, 40 craft and 35 miner to make that cash
i dont know of any solo 50 craft that can make all their own mats and +1 the final item without needed a few other things
What craft to you have at 50? only see 29 weaver>< mule?
I highly suggest all of you anti-undecutter people read this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cartel
You mean people are able to offer the same items the OP is at a cheaper price?
This is really a problem! The OP cant make obscene amounts of money with other people trying to make money!
Everyone! You must stop putting things in the wards at competitive prices so the OP can make money!
*Goes to undercut mythril ore by 1 gil*
