Having either an AH or Market wards isn't going to change or stop people from competing/"undercutting" prices. I don't see a any problem from the current system aside the inability to selectively/filter search for either +1 or normal goods.

All you really have to decide on is weather to take the risk to HQ or just complete the item. If you are having trouble popping out finished products then you need to farm more, get better crafting gear, read the crafting forums here and/or do some research into HQing since 1.22.
Easier to craft HQ gear yes. But the availability of HQ materials and how many beneficial materia are melded is where the greatest risk is and it significantly affect its final selling price. That is where the money lies regardless of the number of crafters in game. Greater risks reap greater rewards. You can name your price on that regardless of what the current market is for that item.

Sadly you don't see a lot of this anyway as crafter's tend to produce the HQ item without attachments and don't risk any loss and just sell it and leave it to the buyer to take the risk afterwards.

The risk is there, people don't tend to take it and take the loss.

I disagree on the first point. The original MWs were about what you were willing to pay. If you did not like the price you saw they you shopped around a bit more to find a better price. If you were lazy then you burned a whole lot of gil. Now the system is price comparison without ever setting foot in the wards. Is it easier and faster for the buyer? Absolutely. Is it much harder to snipe at your prices as a seller? Definitely. I have no issue with them doing that but I have no real cause or need to use the MWs other than a convenience for something really inexpensive that is easy to farm up that I would rather just buy and be done with. I just did not want the "lounging around at the AH waiting for a good deal to pop up" mentality I saw in FFXI. An AH in any game should not be the focal point of the game. I know I am in the minority for that opinion but hey whatever .

On your second point...it would make and will make more sense when people can put their name on the gear as a crafter. You buy a piece of my gear for example and my name is on it then you know who to contact for seating materia if you are not a crafter yourself. Repeat business is always a good thing . Other than that I can see why they don't do that. Because you never know what people have and what materia they want in that gear. What is useful materia to you might be the complete opposite for someone else looking to build another way.
