I used the word "try".The connection doesn't have anything to do with it, as many people have shown. Tons of people with hardwired connections are still getting the 2002's. There's been a look in another thread with a link to a google doc that clearly shows 2002 *isn't* about packet loss/connection stability. It's 100% the login servers. The doc shows the communication between the client and server very clearly. 2002 is something that SE should be looking into fixing.
For the record, I can state myself that 2002 frequency didn't change for me at all, using Wi-Fi vs hardwired connection. Still the same frequency. This is not a fix.
It works for me but I do need to mention my system is much cleaner than most of FF14 player's sysem since I don't install 3rd party software on it and kept it pure steam gaming system.
I realize that, and apologize if I sounded aggressive, wasn't my intent. My only point that I've tried to get across is that SE's methods for combating 2002's seem to be more of a placebo affect, considering that people have dug into it and showed what exactly is going on during the error.
Unlike the server hardware unavailability and long queue times due to an increased player population, 2002 is something that is entirely in SE's control and the community should by all means, at least in a rational way, keep the pressure up on them to properly deal with.
