SE, please make it at least five minutes after a 2002 to get your place back in queue

I got 2002ed after sitting in queue for nearly two hours, had about 300 left in the queue. Got back in as fast as I could, and ended up bumped back to the back of the queue. SE must increase the amount of time they will hold your place in the queue to at the very least five minutes, getting kicked to the back of the queue after a minute after a 2002 is ridiculous.

That's how it already is. Sometimes it doesn't work though and it would be nice if it worked 100% of the time. I'd go as far to say that if you're already logged in and you want to swap characters, you should be able to login immediately after given you do it within 5 minutes. My retainers are at full capacity, I'm throwing away old trophies now to make due lol

Mine wasn't even a minute. It was less than 30 seconds from about 700 to 6k in the last couple hours sitting here (and from my ps5, mind you). It's quite sad. Luckily I have Halo infinite going on another monitor next to my ps5 one, so I can at least play something while loading in (again) lol

    Please try following
Switch to direct cable connection instead of wifi.
If direct cable connection is not an option, please try upgrade to WiFi-6.
If possible, turn off anti-virus and discord on the system you are playing FF14
You should be able to see number of 2002 reduced.

The connection doesn't have anything to do with it, as many people have shown. Tons of people with hardwired connections are still getting the 2002's. There's been a look in another thread with a link to a google doc that clearly shows 2002 *isn't* about packet loss/connection stability. It's 100% the login servers. The doc shows the communication between the client and server very clearly. 2002 is something that SE should be looking into fixing.

For the record, I can state myself that 2002 frequency didn't change for me at all, using Wi-Fi vs hardwired connection. Still the same frequency. This is not a fix.

I'm on Windows 10 PC directly connected to broadband, currently with 580 Mbs download and 50 Mbs upload speed, been on a queue since 2 pm, it's now 5:30 pm, my connection just disconnected on a 2002 error and 156 in the queue. I logged back immediately, and now am back behind 4,560 people in line. This is so so so annoying.

    I used the word "try".
It works for me but I do need to mention my system is much cleaner than most of FF14 player's sysem since I don't install 3rd party software on it and kept it pure steam gaming system.

Likewise... on fiber myself. For the past 2-3 days I've gotten the 2002 error around 250 folks after a 2.5-4k queue. Tonight I logged in to a 2.5k wait, got down to 250 folks and got kicked. Another FC member had the same thing happen to them last night. Was only tinkering with Photoshop while I waited... noticed the ff14 screen go black then quit and hopped back in to an almost 4k queue.

I don't so much as have an issue with the wait as it is some what predictable. What I do have an issue with is losing my place in queue and having to start over... that's super frustrating.

I realize that, and apologize if I sounded aggressive, wasn't my intent. My only point that I've tried to get across is that SE's methods for combating 2002's seem to be more of a placebo affect, considering that people have dug into it and showed what exactly is going on during the error.

Unlike the server hardware unavailability and long queue times due to an increased player population, 2002 is something that is entirely in SE's control and the community should by all means, at least in a rational way, keep the pressure up on them to properly deal with.
