Because my god, running around a place bigger than kholusia without flying is pure torture, and that's not counting how the stupid rabbits try to drag on the story on and on. All that for another hamfisted moral message.

And second part of labyrinthos isn't that much better. Who's brilliant idea it is to make change the bgm for nearly the full duration we're there. I legit had to mute my pc due to increasing headaches.
I absolutely LOVED the expansion overall, but I have to agree with you on some of those slow sections. Seemed to me those were purely there to burn time so you wouldn't get through the story too quickly.

And oh my god I completely forgot about that 2nd half of Labyrinthos... I think the reason the music was like that was because they wanted to set the tone of like... "alright things are moving quickly! Now preparations are underway and we're gonna get things done!" That would have been *fine*... if we only had like a couple quests there. But after a while, you realize that while everyone is supposedly urgently prepping things, *YOU* yourself are *NOT*. You're taking your time going to help other people with their own work and you do that for like... a small eternity of quests. It takes a *while*. And very quickly the repetition of that particular song and it's urgent tone contrast SUPER hard with how slow everything is actually going. And as a result it's torture. Seems like an oversight honestly. Definite crunch to get things up to a certain level of polish and some things like that clearly went unnoticed. I think if any of the dev team members actually played that section in it's entirety with their sound on, it would have been obvious what an issue it is. It's that bad.
