I'm lucky enough that I'm on a low enough population server that I don't have to deal with anything more than a 2k+ queue at primetime. That being said, the fact that this is still a problem on other servers is, from a consumer standpoint, unacceptable.

From an outsider perspective though, I at least understand that Squenix's hands are effectively tied. Building up to release was really a perfect storm.

Attempted to log in, sat in queue for 2 hours, got 2002ed twice, gave up for the night. 2002 is really the biggest major issue at the moment.

I mean, there's not much they can do about that. At most, I think they can look into the 2002 errors. It would be nice to be able to do other things while you're in queue without fear of losing your spot. 6k queues, however, are to be expected for the new expansion of a popular MMO. I suppose they could make more servers assuming the shortage ends any time soon, but if you watch Nerdslayer on YouTube you'll know why that may not be a good idea.

The queue existing is a good thing. Means there are so many players wanting to get in that they have to wait.

Good for S-E maybe. Not really good for the people who are sitting in queues for hours.

That is why they could for temp reasons just rent some servers until for a while the base calms down. Not hard to rent servers then it is to go buy them

Renting server space for SE is not as easy as say an NA developer, because they are based in Japan. Not to mention they have extremely high standards for there servers. Which is both a benefit with the fact that the game itself even though constantly congested has had very little downtime, and a detriment because there is simply not enough space for everyone.

Valid complaints that SE has the power to resolve, but it's going to entail rewriting some code: The 2002 error.

Valid complaints that SE has absolutely no power to resolve because the OCE servers that they ordered last spring are not being delivered until February 2022: The queues. It sucks. They know it sucks. It is a perfect shitstorm of suck. And they can't do much about it, not so long as everyone wants to play at the same time.

All the complaints are valid!

But SE only has the direct power to fix one, maybe two of them, although they can't stop all disconnects because sometimes it really is your internet. (Thanks, Charter.)
