    [Faerie] Constant lag, everywhere, for the past week...

    This is really, really affecting my desire to continue playing the game.

    I hope Square-Enix is doing everything it can to fix this and add better hardware to handle the mass influx of players, because I simply can't play the game on my server in this current state.

    Up until this past week, I had absolutely zero lag or disconnects of any type for many years of playing.

    I can't use crafting macros as it just ruins my materials.

    I can't fight because I can't get out of telegraphs. It just rubberbands me back into them and I get hit.

    The game loading takes several minutes just to get the NPCs to appear. (And no, I am not using an HDD. ONLY SDD's and they're all in perfectly fine health, and I have great internet speed. This is the ONLY game that lags and it's the only one I want to play right now.)

    Four seconds to get into one retainer's inventory/assign ventures. Two to three seconds between menu openings.

    --Which brings me to another point: You guys really, really need to redo the Retainer interface. As it is, it's a convoluted, frustrating, limited, clunky bank vault with extra steps for no reason. I don't care what they have to say, and I don't want their dialogue menu popping up I have to click to get past, and I don't want to have to wait for them to 'appear' to GIVE me said dialogue. It's a relic and long overdo for a modification. There is absolutely no point in them holding Gil in their own inventory for any reason and it just adds yet ANOTHER step for us to get our money from them. And if we are supposed to gear them up (another frustrating menu safari), why don't THEY have a 'recommended gear' option selected from our bags?

    I want to take part in duties, raids, and events with my amazing new FC, and I am by far not the only person experiencing this lag. It seems to affect about 1/3rd of my FC's population.

    Personally would love the "exit out of" option to immediately cease interacting with a retainer and such. To just dismiss the NPC outright, instead of having to go through 3+ options just to LEAVE.
    The issues started with the newest patch update, rather than with the amount of players before. Until patch dropped even at peak times, with mass players on screen there were no issues.
    So, tl;dr, I feel your pain and hope they fix this.

    Having same issue on Excalibur. Game has been virtually unplayable for several days now.
    Same issue of players warping around you, the game seems to be struggling to keep up by pausing and then rapidly catching up with player movement. Menus and dialogue opens with a delay, intense input lag with abilities. Very rarely loading screen time is increased but it happens. Occassional disconnects happen but they are quite rare too.
    Lets hope there's some kind of a solution in works.

    5 secs for a npc chat box to open
    5-10 secs after casting peleton before buff is applied
    Had dungeon trash just stand inone spot for like 30 secs without takibg damage

    Dropping message here because I do not feel this has anything to do with patches breaking things plus it is topic I enjoy! For.. reasons unknown. System administration is not the most exciting of the things.

    It is a very well known issue caused by over congested nodes within the NTT network. The reasons it always appears worse on the patch days is because that is when more people log in. Soooo patch is released --> influx of returning players to explore new patch content --> NTT nodes cannot handle routing requests and begin dropping packets/re-routing players to new nodes within the NTT network.

    It became sooooo fricken terrible that friends were lagging even through a vpn. One of them was trapped in the t-pose activating a crystal within the gold saucer.

    When you consider how very very many new players are joining now this is a problem that will only grow worse until NTT decides to spend some dosh. What ever out dated routing equipment they are using needs to be upgraded. If I were a guessing lala I would say the cpus inside of the nodes are overwhelmed causing incoming requests for connections to be outright dropped. Anyone already connected will experience packet loss while the overtaxed nodes attempt to keep up (or not crash).

    Testing a VPN may assist! I have been using one for months now and many have free trials so you can try first. You must select a region that bypasses the node. If you wish to identify the node use command prompt and type tracert then your server ip. If you are like me and in the East Coast area you will see packet loss occurring on the NTT Sacramento node leaving (probably) the Comcast ibone.

    Best of the luck! Perhaps Square will begin taking this seriously after that long post they made about AFK timers.
