+1 on the Eukrasia bit. When things are getting hairy, sometimes, I can get Eukrasia off and throw out a shield. Other times, it gets caught in the GCD from whatever I cast previously and I'm throwing out a heal instead of shield. Feels very clunky.Hello everyone.. i'm having a mostly good time plaing the sage except...
why is the DoT(poison) locked behind eukrasia?
Why is Eukrasia part of the GCD? If my tank needs help bad, this is wasting time ..
I wonder if any other scholar mains also thought sage felt a little clunky?
Adloqium is a shield with one button, but why does sage need to click two buttons for one shield?
It's like they took heal/shield of astros and didn't implement it well.
This healer feels like one that i would play casually but not try in very hard savage content.
eukrasia only starts a 1 second cooldown, the cast afterwards is instant and gives you another 1,5 second gcd. if your tank "needs help bad" your heal will actually hit quicker than if you hardcast the heal with another healer.
only thing wrong with it is that eukrasia aswell as eukrasian skills gcd aren't effected by spellspeed making an allready bad stat even worse.
I only wish we had a second single target Dosis attack linked to the one we have right now for increased attack power for better heals. Either that or a slight increase in damage/healing potency for Dosis.
Eukrasia just feels like they wanted to give Sage more abilities than any of the other healers, but had to cheat a little to do it. It could have easily just been a few separate spells.
Eukrasia is 1 second; Eukrasian Diagnosis is instant, so doing Eukrasia + Diagnosis is actually faster than just Diagnosis, which has a 1.5s base cast time.If my tank needs help bad, this is wasting time .. You could just cast diagnosis without the shield in such situations, but doesn't that defeat the purpose of sage being a shielder ? Of course this doesn't happen all the time because we do have 3 charges of Druochole(like white mage lilies), but still.

I don't have a problem with Eukrasia, my issue is that I feel like the effects of Kardia are weaker than it should be... Even a chain of 4 Toxicon IIs on a group of 5 mobs barely keep up with their base damage.

My outline for a Chemist healer: https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/513527-Healer-Concept-Draft-Chemist
I have no issue with Eukrasia, it's Toxicon that I have an issue with. I just wish it was on a cd or something instead. Most of the time, I just don't worry about it.
I have no probs with Eukrasia at all, to me it saves on button bloat having a normal heal and shield version of everything. As someone said the heal cast after is instant and if you use cd's properly the tank shouldn't be in much trouble at all, I never gcd heal double pulls in dungeons as it is because the weaving of mitigation and healing is strong enough with soteria up that I needn't swap to heal the tank at all if they are competent. When it's hairy I am not gcd healing I am using the other ogcd tools I have typically unless I have no recourse but to use gcd heals (eww)
I will say, since I am used to astro having mained that. The sage feels like more work for small feeling heals, it is a bit less straight forward and feels less potent so I can see people newer to healing struggling, I have had a lot of sages that cannot heal single pulls in dungeons lately. Enjoyable healer to me, the rng on the astrodyne has pushed me away from my beloved astro for now![]()
Hyped to see how it performs in savage ^.^ I hope it keeps up with scholar.
You need to read your tooltips a bit more.
Also Pneuma works with Zoe.
