EW Zone 6 Music Post-MSQ (Spoilers)

This is a simple thought about Ultima Thule: there needs to be a way to disable the lyric song and return to the ambient/distorted song that plays earlier.

This game has great music and I want to hear it. I think this is the first zone that plays lyrics on an endless loop that are intelligible (aka, La Hee is fine). There's nothing "background music" about a song with lyrics. My allies are saved, no one is dead, no one is mourning, the UNIVERSE is saved. I don't want to have lyrics blasting in my ear telling me to walk on. I was burnt out of the song before I even finished the MSQ.

I'm also not looking to be told turn on mount music, /bgm, etc. That doesn't solve the problem of one very odd choice of permanent BGM.

I get where your coming from, the original song was quite cool but it feels like the idea was the place changing from despair to hope.
I kind of have a feeling that developing that central town in ultima thule will replace beast tribes too so might get yet another music in that part. The Elephants and lopporits are kind of already integrated afterall

Always have soundtrack albums and youtube I suppose, maybe even get a orchestrion roll?

A lot of people died, some we met personally. Sure our closest friends are alive but we did not save everyone. We were too late for many people, some we personally knew.

The never ending journey is a central theme to FFXIV. Hydaelyn told us to walk free. "Our journey will never end" is a line from a song in Shadowbringers. The furnishing to view cutscenes is called The Unending Journey. We are Azem The Traveller, even before knowing that we fulfilled the duties of The Traveller and among Emet Selch's final words were him telling us to not stop our journey. Also I think the song is sung from the point of view of the Ancients, not just the Scions. "Through you we live" is equally applicable to the Ancients. The Scions may be saved but the Ancients are not. We must walk on so that their legacy won't end. Furthermore the zone is still a place where despair is prominent. Our world may be saved but the same cannot be said for those who are populating Ultima Thule. If anything the zone is a monument to the transition from despair to hope.

It's fine if you're sick of the song, you don't have to like it, but trying to say it's somehow inappropriate is very strange to me.

EDIT: got nothing against a toggle to change the music to earlier versions of the song.

The trigger to the song was the Scions dying. The Scions were deus ex machina'd back to life. Sure, the lyrics might call back to other stuff, but it doesn't change it was a punch in the feels for the Scions... who aren't dead. The song didn't play because Haurchefant died 6 years ago lol

Yea gonna leave this thread. Said my two cents and you clearly are trying very hard to misunderstand me. Or you really have not been paying attention to the story. Hope your requested toggle comes to the game. I enjoy all three versions of the song.

I really enjoy that it plays the song, and I love the song.

To me, after everything, the map would feel weird without that song now, but obviously a toggle would be fine.

I love the song...I am up there now and I turned it right up! while I ate my breakfast haha.


I don't want it changed though. Maybe give the option for those who would like to turn it off.

I agree. The song is great, but for an overall zone theme the ambient version was perfect. I'd rather the song only played while you're in certain areas of the zone.
