Interesting link.Someone on reddit was nice enough to do a full technical analysis of the cause of the 2002 error and JUST LIKE everyone has been saying.
The server is resetting you client every 15 minutes and if it desyncs during this client reset it crashes the client.
This has nothing to do with your internet but an internal server side check done once that causes you client to crash.
Fix this now and stop blaming your consumers for internal coding issues.

I could see a few situations,
a. The link is wrong (though it seemed informative so I'm not immediately for that, and it seems right... Because I've had games survive worse on less*, the queue seems aggressively sensitive)
b. Someone informed Yoshida wrong
c. They know the reason but it is providing relief and so they were trying to hide it, as they don't want the queue to be even longer, or causing other instability issues, due to the queue not randomly dropping people
d. A little bit out of multiple options lol, maybe some of what said is true but there are other issues too.
End of day it is certainly disheartening and annoying to wait in a long line and get kicked out, feeling like you have to nurse the queue and can't walk away else hours will be lost, but even if you nurse the queue you have a chance all is for naught if you get the error too many times and it forgets your place in line. I've been lucky and rarely get the issue, am thankful for that - I have been able to play fairly consistently. I feel for those who haven been unlucky.
Seems like blizzard is doing worse and worse, can we have their servers now? Lol XD
*Worse on less not as in SE's situation with popular game not enough servers, I mean much worse internet quality connecting to do activities. Often games, programs, whatever, can save themselves from a full hard crash. If the internet did fail to pass information back to the servers, why couldn't it attempt to repair that relationship? And if it does already... shouldn't it be possible to make it try harder? lol. I don't envy situation or those having to working on this right now though, best options seem not possible (can't easily buy more hardware) and the other solutions are probably dangerous enough you don't want to just whip them out without making sure they wont cause other catastrophic issues (like if you followed New World unfortunately a few quick fix solutions to issues created much larger problems later).

Hasn't been happening on PS4, or at least to me. I got one crash after waiting an hour, immediately logged back in, and was back in my place in queue for another 30 minutes before I actually got in earlier today.
2002 along with other errors happen to me all the time. I just don't even try in the afternoon. It isn't possible for me to play. I'm PS4.
This needs tons more visibility. Why is this not on the front page of the FF14 reddit?Someone on reddit was nice enough to do a full technical analysis of the cause of the 2002 error and JUST LIKE everyone has been saying.

I'm on a Japanese DC and only ever had 2002s the very first day.
I also live in my own house about 30km away from the servers with a single digit ping, and I have a 2Gbps line.
I'd wager if I had to guess if a random redditor is correct, or YP, based on my personal experience, I'd go with YP ten times out of ten.
And you wonder why there are so many anti-vaxxers and flat-earthers around, when the conspiracy theories don't even stop on the official XIV forums.
A bit ironic that you complain about conspiracy theories, while putting blind faith in a man "because he said so" vs someone that actually gathered evidence that the problem exists.I'm on a Japanese DC and only ever had 2002s the very first day.

I described my personal situation, and why I think it's BS.
You're a very selective reader, aren't you. Picking one line to reply to.
