Ridiculous Queues Since Endwalker

I am an Australian on Jenova. Since Endwalker release the shortest queue I have had has been 3942 players. Just tried to login and the queue was over 4200. Clearly I am not going to hang around with baited-breath. Other games to play. I also note that while my character's name appears, no data is shown (nothing but '?' under each category).
Is anyone else having a similar experience?

Every launch where the login servers get slammed, yeah, sometimes your character won't show. That doesn't stop the login process itself.

But this expac has heretofore unseen queues and other issues. Where I am, peak login queues can be 6k+. If you can't get in at off peak times, it may well be worth considering unsubbing until this is resolved.

The no data is normal when the servers are over loaded with people trying to log in. There is no problem, you characters are fine.

They have had large unexpected growth from wow players migrating over and people coming back for the expansion, it is the largest they have seen for a expansion. Unfortunately they cannot get any more servers at the moment due to the chip shortages there are none to found. Will just have to deal with the que and be patient.

I actually doubt it.
Most of FFXIV's population consists of casual players who do hard and - on occasion when their FC hosts a "beginners night" - extreme content. That's not to say lots of people won't return for savage content but I don't think it would be enough to make the login/queue situation any worse than it already is.

I'm fairly certain they'll just delay data centre travel again and just coast along until they get additional/better server hardware.

Yeah you’re right, well guess world first clears will be interesting to watch but yeah think this whole thing probably raps up once these raids are out now that I think about it.

Outside of Ultimates, I can't say I've ever really seen any part of the community with much vested interest in "world first clears" for raids.

Ever since the first T1-t5 came out people were in fact already competing. Collision ring a bell? Maybe not, veteran player here.
