So the ones wanting people to review bomb the game, comparing IT to pharmaceutical, and wanting to report bomb somebody who disagrees with them are NOT looking ridiculous?I dont think you white knights are capable of understanding the simple fact that this all could have been diverted and eased long before ew. People have paid for a service they are not getting and shouldn't have to charge their entire lives based on the mistakes of a company who promised and didn't deliver. The only people who look ridiculous in these threads are the ones yelling at people for not accepting completely unacceptable standards and aren't praying to the yoshi shrine they built in their bedroom.

I keep hearing the same talking points, but not actually pinpointing the actual issue. Just a bunch of assumptions. I don't think that's White Knighting. I ASKED with their experience since the assumption was "they did nothing" what is it exactly they should have done since now everyone's some kind of expert as to what's going on. I mean the US government can't even figure out how to fix the supply lines for the logistics industry at the moment and neither can the companies knee deep in the mess of distributing the cargo.I dont think you white knights are capable of understanding the simple fact that this all could have been diverted and eased long before ew. People have paid for a service they are not getting and shouldn't have to charge their entire lives based on the mistakes of a company who promised and didn't deliver. So you will have to excuse me while I'm a bit irritated over the same arguments and not a lot of well researched solutions to the matter. I mean right now another post is about ONE guy's google docs with admitted "amateur" investigation. Not a team of people looking into the matter nor did he exactly have backup parties researching it and we take him for his word.
I know the client launcher is a bit outdated - it's using Internet Explorer still for PC. However, that's not for me to make the logical leap as to why it's quitting. Since PS4/PS5 is obviously NOT using Windows and IE. So it's not the same software on different platforms. For example the person who made the reddit post - was this tested on PC AND PS4 (and haha Mac?).Based on what we've learned about the queue system, its design needed to be fundamentally revisited in anticipation of being bombarded with completely unprecedented numbers of users.
A large portion of what is frustrating people is a software problem which is actually strictly within SE's domain to fix. The problem is that it is something that may need time to address, and should have been fixed well ahead of time, rather than SE taking a gamble.
I do think a change in how it authenticates so that you don't have to restart the client is something to definitely be investigated, but probably didn't have the foresight or the data to work with until now. That still is some time to fix. They already had to delay it for two weeks as is. I am just not assuming it's not being looked into or that they're doing "nothing"

You are 100% right in feeling this way. I myself an waiting for my sub to run out. This is a story based game and to play in such a sporadic manner is ruining it for me. Not to mention there is NO fix to this beyond more/better servers which is absolutely no where in sight. People quitting isn't going to have an effect unless it happens in the tens of thousands (at least on my DC), so stepping away is the only option. Especially since this could go on well into next spring or summer with the supply chain being what it is.
Don't put words in my mouth. I'm saying don't defend mediocrity. Theres enough of that going on in the real world and it never does anyone any favors.
Wasn't putting words in your mouth, just pointing out that the people being ridiculous the most seem to be the ones most outraged...assuming they're not trolling (it can hard to be tell right now).

Unsubbing for a month wouldn’t cause you to miss 6.1. That won’t come out until late March/early April at the earliest.
That said, it’s sad that this is a ponderable solution. I’m curious how long these queues are going to last. I wonder how they’ll be when Pandaemonium normal mode drops…
JP servers are free from congestion even during peak hour maybe 15m waiting. Not saying this is the best solution right now but maybe worth giving it a thought?
Only if we have the DC visit now...
This is the only way I have been able to play much at all. Fortunately I already had a character on a JP server that is only a little lower lvl than the one I am posting on. It is still annoying though as I want to be playing on my main.

As a so-called "white knight" who has chided other complaints that were basically just cringey whining, I have to say I completely support this post. It is clear, honest, based, mature, and understandable. This has been a bad situation for us all, and I don't blame you for wanting to unsub. Peak hours are peak hours for a reason, and most of us don't have a choice but to try and play during that time. The current login queue is unreasonable, and I am with you that even if I still had time after all that wait I just emotionally might be so soured on the game that I wouldn't want to anymore.
