Don't understand Meteion's character **SPOILERS**

I want to clarify things because I my memory/understanding of the story is hazy at best.

We are introduced to Meteion who is Hermes's creation, who is an Entelechy, meaning she is sensitive to ambient emotion just like the flower Venat gave the WoL.

She can interact with Dynamis, a form of energy derived from emotion. We know that Dynamis is counteracted by aether which is why Zodiark was summoned to stop the influx of Dynamis to prevent The Final Days.

1. During The Final Days of the present, the influx of Dynamis caused those with the most despair and sorrow in their hearts to transform into Blasphemies. Is this the same when a person receives an influx of a certain type of aether like how light turns those with too much into sin-eaters?

2. Why was it these negative feelings specifically? Is Meteion specifically channeling "negative" Dynamis and using that against living beings because they'll transform into a Blasphemy as a result? Would the same happen with "positive" Dynamis? OR, is there so much negative energy, that because of Dynamis, they transform? Like Dynamis is amplifying the emotion that's already present, which just so happens to be negative.

3. Why did Meteion suddenly resolve to end all life on Etheirys? Is it because she "transformed" just like the others from the influx of everyone's cries for salvation from life? Or did she just decide to go rogue regardless of anyone else's opinion? Regardless, Hermes obviously didn't mind as he already doubted society due to how they treat creations "unfit" to live. Meteions findings only amplified his feelings.

4. What exactly is the Endsinger? It isn't Meteion because she was cured after being reinvigorated with the Scions' hope. Is it her sisters?

I guess Meteion is a flawed creation. From what I gather, the despair she encountered as an Entelechy caused her to go nuts and want to destroy all life.

1. Bit fuzzy here too, but at least in "modern world" the depair aspected dynamis rots the soul and aether away leaving the blasphemy

2. Meteion was channeling the suicidal despair of many worlds through her hivemind. No idea on positive dynamis reactions yet.

3. She was hopped up on the despair of dead worlds the universe over, her super-empathy channeled through the hivemind is what broke her, the tranformation for her seems to otherwise be a cosmetic reflection of her emotional state, as she transformed back with the song of hope.

4.The endsinger by just the visual swarm of birds in the cutscene, so could be wrong, is the physical manefestation of the hivemind, and the part that still had hope was the bluebird.

1. There doesn't seem to be "degrees" of corruption with Dynamis like there was with aether, and once its concentration gets too high it simply causes one's aether break down almost completely, leaving only enough to maintain a physical form and some extremely faint memories that are more like an instinct if anything at all.

2. She was channeling the "despair" dynamis onto the world, judging from how the Elpis flower immediately disintegrated despite Vrtra having raised the spirits of his people.

3. Hermes sent her sisters out into the stars to get various answers to the question of "Why do we live?", but the sheer amount of despair in the universe led them to conclude that people live only to suffer or die, and thus they resolved to make it so nobody would have to be born in the first place, and also determined that Etheriys was an anomaly due to its prosperity in contrast to the myriads of dead or dying worlds. This was also driven in part by the fact that being empaths they'd share the feelings of all those countless people desiring death, so it's unlikely it's them speaking so much as it is the collective thoughts of those they encountered.

4. I took the Endsinger as being an amalgamation of all of Meteion's traumatized sisters, with her being the sole voice crying out in protest to their actions after we jogged her memory with the Elpis flowers.

Also a result of all the other ones giving into despair. The main one had the WoL as a friend originally which prevented her from despairing until she was forcefully connected to the others. Even then we brought her out of it because of our friendship with her. The others however did not have a friend, which led to their despair overpowering them. In other words, loneliness broke the girls.

'Original' isn't quite right, because they were part of a whole greater project and we have no indication on which, if any, were the 'first' or if that actually matters.

The 'good' Meteion, however, is the one that stayed on Etheirys, the one we met and made a connection with, and the one who had the conversation with Hermes about being given a flower on returning. Perhaps importantly, the one who only got second-hand knowledge of the end everyone else saw, rather than first-hand.

I don't mind Meteion but I really really really dislike Hermes.

I could relate to Hermes some, though also he’s a bit too much of a bleeding heart in some ways and a hypocrite in others.
