There's a reason 2002 exists. They implemented it in Stormblood to prevent servers from crashing and forcing maintenance to be done. It worked as a measure to fix the problems they had at the time; and it's doing its job now making sure the service is still working despite gigantic login queues.

If 2002 was removed, would that make your life playing XIV any better? No, it'd make it worse by the amount of times the servers would be crashing and causing DC-wide shutdowns because of the massive amount of players coming in - so much they're basically DDoSing themselves.

That in itself would be more frustrating than dealing with the queues - and until their infrastructure issue is fixed and they're able to install the required servers, pick your poison.
