Fair enough, that is a bit excessive.

But not impossible with chemical aides. Whatever percentage of the regular population using substances to cut down on the sleep they need, is the same percentage of people here that do so as well.

Staying up for three days is not uncommon in these situations. I'm not saying there's tens of thousands of people strung out online, I'm just saying... running into one or two here and there isn't impossible. The person online for three days may have been, indeed, playing for three days.

I remember seeing a certain character at Eulmore prior to the expansion and they could be seen dancing about. Not even sure which emote it was that they used, but one just the same. I wondered if that would become a more common thing in later times. Turns out, my suspicion was correct. I do not know if they have been there the entire time or if they have made any moves or not.

I assume the game is aware if they don't move and will boot them just the same. But that is an assumption of mine and by no means a fact. Same goes for a character meleeing a practice dummy to avoid the boot.

I'll admit, I've stopped along the way during the story line to handle chores or get in a meal or even grab a shower. But I will move my character within the 30 minute window to not get booted. Granted, I've failed a time or two in that endeavor but still I would try nonetheless.

I've been reporting these bots for years. Nothing short of half the player base writing will get se to care about cheating.

Honestly, you guys should go easy on these Afklers. I also find these kind of behaviour a bit qusetionable or strange but i wouldnt go that far and say SE should kick or bann them. In the end these guys pay the same amount of money to SE like you, maybe even more (glamours, retainers, mounts). Its not their fault that SE is incompetant and not able to provide enough space for everyone. These guys are just a symptom but not the cause.

There *are* people using a trick to stay AFK and not get detected and booted by SE's algorithms. I'm a very new player to this game and I've learned (and seen) how they do it, even though I'll not use that exploit for my own account. LOL, one reason is I don't want to pay for electricity (and my internet provider's excess data charges) to run my PC 24 hours on end while I work, eat and sleep. Two, I do think it's grossly unfair to other players, who may not have been able to play at all, or just for a few hours since Dec. 3rd.

So like everyone else, I login and queue up - and deal with the 2002 errors too. SE should and probably does know about these exploits (there must be more than one), they just don't care, or don't have the time, or truly can't get rid of them.

Actually, the long queues are encouraging more people to avoid AFK. Before, if I had to go AFK for more than 10 minutes to get something done. I'd log off.
Now, I stay on, and return to move my character a bit once in a while so I don't end up in the 2002 game again.

I'm seriously considering hiding in my inn room with the W and A keys wedged down so I run in circles. (Not sure if that will work).

I have seen people in quiet places like the Ishgard questing areas using a macro to make them naked and swapping jobs/gear on a loop. It's sad to see and very unfair to those who'd actually like to play the game.

It needs cracking down on.

This is probably a stupid question, but whatever.

Is it reportable if someone's dodging the AFK kick, since it was made more strict than before?

I'm talking like, someone that's been "online" for nearing 48 hours now just taking up space in the server.

Should be a timer that logs out anyone for over 24 Hours continuous runtime just as a hardline. Should be so for their own health.

The only way they can truly handle it is random server resets with minimal (1 hour) lead time. If I remember right they have done it before. Players threw a fit though so no idea if they would risk it again.
