Casual players locked out of FFXIV for indefinite time!

I play casually, don't tend to do ex raid content and I only really come around patch time and xpac time. I was able to finish endwalker during the early access without much issues.

Que's suck, 2002's suck but I haven't had one since the patch.

It hasn't ruined the game, it's just made it incredibly inconvenient

I logged in early, and if I knew I didn't have at least 4 hrs to blow, I didn't bother trying to Que after 2pm est.

And that’s great, but that’s not the reality for everyone. I still get frequent 2002s and i pay for damn good internet so that’s not the issue on my end.

Only way to play if you’re single and working 9 to 5 is to log in at 7am and hide in an instanced room with an auto keypress program running. Then there’s just 8 hours of work before you with the sheer terror of your internet possibly failing/timing out and you being greeted by the title screen when you get home.

Yes it’s kind of ridiculous, but that is the only way to play as of now and more than enough people are doing it.

Square Enix saw the influx of people this year and should have anticipated this. They are at fault. I wish they would have delayed the game to get more server than not being able to play at all.

Hm. This is pretty much the only way I would not recommend to any of my friends. Not to mention they would not do this anyway. I mean there is still people with the rational: If I want to watch netflix, I just start it up. If I want to play a game, I just start it up. FFXIV has become something exclusive to those that have extra time on their hands or to those that are willing to do somewhat risky stuff and at the same time agree to be part of making a big problem even bigger. If you are a normal personl wanting to enjoy a game normally - you are out.

A queue of 4000 is what I usually come home to, and it takes about 2 hours.
That's time to get your chores done, make dinner, etc.
It's mildly inconvenient at most.

Now and again I check the number in line, if it is going to be more than an hour, well, let's just say I have re-discovered some other games.

Still paying though...yeah, kind of an old fool.

Imagine you have to wake up early to go travel to your parents home. You load your car, grab your family and take a long 8 hours road until there.
You get to your parents home, after some time with them you decide to go to the Yoshida Queue System, at 5pm, with 2.5k people is not so bad. So at 8pm, 3 disconnects after and the hopes to not go to the end of the que queue after another disconnect, you are in, oh cool!
Lets play some EW, 3 min on, and what happens our famous 2002, lets quickly reconnect, but that time no way buddy 6.5k on the Yoshida Queue System for you, take that.

The message is, enjoy your family after a long road.

And if they couldn't get the hardware for another year, would you expect every person to continue paying to repeat Shadowbringers Expert Queue and Nier raids just so you're happy? It's a tough reality - but MMOs that stagnate tend to die off.
