It sucks yes. I just do not understand why so many people are straight up disregarding the fact that the release is quite a disaster. It has been more than a week since EA. We received bonus 7 days of playtime for free but within this week many people have not been able to play because of the irl schedule. I would ask a simple question - how would you rate the game that you know it is perfect but you cannot play it, despite purchasing it? My score would be very, very low. I was one of the lucky ones to be able to play quite a lot but have been struck with queue savage a few times and this is a complete disaster. And I get it that many people want to play. The worst thing is, queues are not reliable. You still can get the error, even with perfect internet connection and if you do not react quickly, you end up on the end of the stick again. Happened to me every time I was thrown into queue savage.
And of course this post is some kind of venting my rage but seriously, in my opinion Square was not ready for the launch. As much as I love FFXIV and consider this game a part of my life, I cannot defend a product that is not accessible for many people with normal (!) life schedule. If anything - I would love to see Square stagger the patch release schedule so people can hop into the game after work normally. Right now should I not be on my holiday - I am pretty sure I would not be able to play a single minute.
All in all - the situation is pretty bad for many people and I cannot sympathize enough. After all this is the grand closing of the sage. The milestone. The finale. And people are reacting very emotionally, because they care about the game. And I think Square should think of somehow compensating players, even after giving us 7 days of free time.
Edit: Please don't cut single lines from the post and prove me wrong. I will not engage in such asymmetrical discourse. This post was meant to reflect my feelings after spending 2 weekend days in the queue being booted and getting back on the very end again. Hope this save boss will go down soon enough we all get to play as much as our hearts desire
