If it hasn't already been said in this thread i'd like to point out my solution to this issue as someone who works Full-Time myself.

    1. Play in the morning before work.

    2. Before leaving, go to the Login Screen and select your character so that the Confirmation Text Box is visible.

    3. 2-1 Hour before you go home (depending on how bad your queue times generally are) use a Remote Desktop app like Google Remote Desktop to bring your screen up on your phone and join the queue from work.

    4. Pray to your favorite Deity that you don't get an error message and when you get home you'll have a minimal queue.

It can be tricky on the timing base on queue but from what ive noticed every 2,000 or so people in queue is equal to about an hour wait.

Using this strategy I have been able to play the game pretty consistently after work. I only had a single instance where my game disconnected during a dungeon and I got booted back to queue, but at that point the queue was much smaller.

Ahhh yes, kinda jelly of those who live at mom's or do not have any real responsibilites and their job is to stay connected 24/7 even if AFK. Yea I used to do that, in my early days, welp.

I'm rather certain this has already been said by others, since it's a huge problem, but I wanted to tell about my own experience with the release of the Expansion as well as the Early Access.

For starters, I tried to play every day, but wasn't successful very often.

My normal workday starts at 7:30am and ends at about 4:30pm.
Normally I get home by 5pm, make something to eat, check my private mails and do chores etc. At this point, the first thing I do is to open up FF14 and log in, since the Queue is always at 4k+ people during the time I get home, which means 4-5 hours waiting time.
So, on my average workday, I get about enough time to do my Roulettes, and then it's already 11pm and I need to go to bed, progression is the main quests (or god forbid side Quests) is an absolute no-go.

Then, during weekends it looks better. In the morning, until about noon, the login is basically instant (to maybe half an hour).
So then I was finally able to get some Story progression and an actual look at Endwalker content. However, I don't have time to stay at the PC the whole day and grocery shopping takes longer than half an hour, so at some point I have to get kicked out for inactivity. Yesterday, that was for example the case at 3-4pm, where I went grocery shopping. After coming back, and logging back in, I was in a queue of over 5k people, that took over 6 HOURS for me to get back in to the game. So that was basically it for the day.

Today I was busy the whole morning and, thanks to an Error during the queue, I got thrown out at some point. After logging back in at 2pm (half an hour ago) I was placed at 3.5k in queue. So I guess I hardly get to play today again.

Thing is, I bought "Playtime Cards", not "Queue waiting time Cards"
I simply can't understand how in todays time the queues can be longer than maybe half an hour, and the compensation of 7 days of playtime, is a joke, considering that it hasn't gotten any better at all.

My point is, when you are an adult, working throughout half the day, and get back home, only to have to spend in a queue the whole time, so you get maybe 1 hour of playtime out of it... That's just horrible.
I couldn't even imagine how much worse it'd be if I also had a child. Probably wouldn't have seen an inch of Endwalker content.

I would have much rather kept playing Shadowbringers and not have Endwalker at all, if it means that I could actually play the game.
    1000% -

This is my point several times over, working players are being shafted the hardest here and that is nuts!

SE needs to do something much more substantial here than 7 days, who cares about 7 days!?

They're blatantly lying and know that they just want to save OPEX rather than spend for servers. They already have our cash, it's much easier to wait for players to get bored than bid out more servers.

Married with children, thank you very much.

Get your priorities together and maybe you will find the spare time needed.

Also having a Smartphone in your pocket and occasionally checking the queue isn't exactly a time consuming activity.

My comment was not directed at you, but thanks. Priorities indeed.

If you are not a streamer and you work a full time job of 45+ hours a week you shouldn't be trying to invest time into an MMO. Especially if you have kids..

This has been the best launch to date for me. Queue times have only been max 50 people. The story was terrible and was meh.

no totally disagree most games that have been around a while only see the initial queus right after maintance when the servers first come back. unfortunately with recent population growth of the game and hardware being an issue there is only so much they can do i suppose to "fix" the issue. the more frustrating issue is the occasional queuline blowup that disconnect you and potentionally makes you lose your spot in line. again im not a computer guy and i know they added another 4k per server before that happens but it still happens and means you basically have to baby sit and stare at the screen compounding the problem. its unfortunate especially knowing that world events is making it difficult for the final fantasy team to combat it but make no mistake it is a very valid issue if people who paid for a game and pay for time to play that they cannot play the game.
