We'll probably go to the void/13th shard, led by Zenos's voidsent that Yoshi P heavily hinted at and we haven't killed. I bet the void and dynamis are connected because almost every single blasphemy has the same model as a voidsent. I wouldn't be surprised if Zenos's voidsent kept him alive, or at least his body, and it will play a role in starting the new Void arc. Since Zenos can't actually die through natural means, I'm sure he'll play an interesting role too. There are void rifts in the sky in Ultima Thule, so...

Or we go to Meracydia and the void story starts there.

The existence of the "Void Quests" at the Crystarium seems to make it unlikely, or at least difficult for plot integration, to have the MSQ also deal with the void. As much as they haven't really made any progress, it feels like setting the stage for a later continuation – assuming it didn't just get dropped due to COVID – but even then it could get picked up again later.

And it has such a long shopping list of prerequisites: all the role quests, and the capstone, and all the Warring Triad and the associated extreme trials (including the need to beat Bismarck and Ravana to continue those quests, as simple as that is to do unsynched). It was even speculated by fans that they might plan to integrate the Eden quests in future.

I'd kinda prefer to have a more "grounded" expansion next that's a return to our roots with a journey to lands largely unknown, be it Meracydia, the New World, or elsewhere on the Source; with the only thing guiding us there being a vague portent of coming danger.

I feel like the former probably has the most potential lead-ins between Tiamat returning there after millenia and Vtra being able to keep us on speed dial with his siblings. Riol also mentions he was planning to go there, so I think there's a reasonable chance he'll come across some unsettling developments that might warrant attention from the Scions.

The dragons and (especially) Ea we know just straight-up don't work like real dragons and Ea; they're essentially trapped souls in artificial simulacra bodies, that do a decent job of appearing to be the real thing but aren't organic, natural forms. But the Omicrons... well, they're already not organic, natural forms. So what's the difference between an Ultima Thule Omicron, an Omicron from the Omicron homeworld, and an Omicron made with materials from one of their invaded planets? What makes one genuine and another not? If you were to devise a test to determine a 'genuine' member of a species, it's very possible that Ultima Thule's dragons or Ea would fail. But the Omicrons might succeed, by virtue of them failing in exactly the same ways as the 'real' ones.

Those are just about restoring the void though, right? I haven't done all of them yet. I could see it maybe taking a different path, not necessarily restoration. I'm really just going off of Yoshi P's hint about that voidsent, but maybe it'll just be a trial boss. Meracydia is interesting though since it involves Allagans and the Void and got name-dropped by Emet.

I bet dynamis will continue to play a role in the story, even if we don't delve deep into the void yet. Though it would be strange to never have the void introduced to MSQ especially after they introduced a very interesting-looking and mysterious voidsent in it.

In FFXI, Dynamis was a parallel universe in an altered timeline where Dynamis Lord ruled. There was also Promyvions, which looked like a more washed out version of Ultima Thul in a lot of respects - scattered memories of the world of Vana'diel floating in the dark.

No matter what direction the story goes, I'd bet a million gil it's in another dimension. The 13th still is teetering on the brink of being consumed wholly by darkness, but it ran out of aether before the process could be completed. We may not be able to save those there with Alisae's methods.
I wonder if we'll see Diabolos again. On the wiki it states he is simply banished back to the void, not totally destroyed. I haven't actually played FFXI but I know Diabolos is the ruler of dreams and plays a big role in the Dynamis universe. I can see us going to a parallel, dream world. Also interesting that one of the bosses in Dynamis is called Shinryu and...yeah.

We left Zenos with that strange voidsent in a similiar Dynamis zone which is a little interesting to me. Chekhov's gun? One of Koji Fox's favorite games is FFXI so there's definitely been some inspiration taken from it.

(once again I haven't actually played this game so correct me if i'm wrong)

They do drop Dynamis Crystals, suggesting they're still mostly dynamis.

What I was wondering about, was Heimdall's Last Sight. There is this Satellite and one of the Quests leads you there and that Questgiver Loporrit tells you that this Satellite crashed 5 Years ago. That is a pretty short time and why crashed it on the Moon?

This is actually explained in the Sightseeing Log for Heimdall's Last Stand.
The ancient Allagans launched this Heimdall-class vessel into the heavens to monitor Bahamut's prison, Dalamud. When that colossal satellite awakened around the time of the Seventh Umbral Calamity, the observation craft was shot down as it attempted to halt the activation process.
