    Some Initial Feedback on Monks

    I'm breaking this down into what I think new monk is doing well, and then where I find myself unhappy with monk. I do end with some ideas for what I think could address my issues, but that's not really important.

    The Good
    • New Perfect Balance and Masterful Blitz functionality.
    • Not needing positionals on Bootshine and Dragon Kick specifically--I know positionals are a hot-button topic, but these two specifically I like not having them because of the DK-BS windows during PB.
    • Thunderclap is great--I really don't like potency attached to my utility.
    • No more stances

    The Bad
    • The DoT on Demolish stresses the rotation in unpleasant ways--mostly, it's the fact that there's an extremely narrow GCD window that's good, but also the inclusion of an additional GCD every 40s seems to muck around with the rotation.
    • Six-Sided Star and Anatman are still mostly useless.
    • Celestial Revolution animation is cool, but we will never see it with optimal play
    • Not having Phantom Rush during burst windows unless we purposefully scuff our opening feels bad.

    The Ideas
    As Neil Gaiman said about writing:
    Remember: when people tell you something's wrong or doesn't work for them, they are almost always right. When they tell you exactly what they think is wrong and how to fix it, they are almost always wrong.
    So these are some ideas that I present to the devs to use or ignore, however they see fit. I do think they would address the problems I have, but...well, the quote above.
    • Take the DoT off Demolish and give Demolish some kind of buff to keep up, instead (maybe a bonus crit chance)
    • Would probably have to have Rockbreaker also grant that buff
    • Change SSS to a normal GCD attack, but it applies the DoT--this attack already doesn't interrupt combos, so this lets us weave it as necessary
    • Change Anatman entirely--make it an oGCD buff like PB, except it instantly opens 2 Opo-Opo Chakra and a Raptor Chakra (so we get an instant Celestial Revolution). Can't be used while under Perfect Balance.
    • This would address both the natural stagger of Phantom Rush out of group burst windows, and also give us reason to use/see Celestial Revolution
    • CDs and/or Potencies would need to be adjusted, almost certainly

    At least for me there is a love-hate relationship with the Current Monk.

    Dislikes
    I hate the fact that they took away stances, and removed more positionals. because it gives those who invest their time into the class, to be rewarded with satisfaction.
    it such a sloppy job that they locked Shoulder-tackle/Elixir Field/Tornado Kick behind PB.
    Celestial Revolution?? what's the point of adding this when it's only gonna be relegated to be second fiddle when the MNK messes up?
    Anatman and SSS is still useless
    Riddle is wind ?? what is the point of adding this?
    missing EF/TK won't activate solar/lunar nadi

    Form Shift activates after PB finisher, it creates a nice flow into what you require/need at that point in time.
    Masterful Blitz, while many says it's pretty much Ninja heh, at least SE is trying something about it.
    Monk feels quite satisfying AOE-ing large mobs.


    My take?
    I would move Tornado Kick(change back to Single Target), and Elixir Field back to an oGCD, PB Finishers would have 2 single target(Celestial Revolution, SSS), 1 AOE(Flint Strike)
    lvl 60 (solar/lunar nadi) activates Rising Phoenix, at level 90 changes to Phantom Rush.
    Anatman - When activated, channels for x seconds, able to move while channeling but using of other skills breaks channeling. After Channeling for X secs, unlock 1/2/3 beast chakra,
    return stances
    return positionals
    make Riddle of Wind a Team utility skill, or adds 1 stack to PB



    i don't know getting to the Burst phase will always take forever because of Masterful Blitz. overall i think there's a ton of improvement to be made
