The same problem here. I thing the problem needs to be resolved on the client side. Making longer the time to relogin is not acceptable as it still requires to watch the queue all the time.

I dont think I have ever played a game where if going from character select to the game itself had a connection error that the client just closes itself.. that is just bad design to begin with. They need to change the step in the code where it displays the error and closes the client to just trying to reconnect and displaying a message to the player that it is trying to reconnect.. and you know... try to reconnect instead of just dropping everything and closing.
