Level 89 Melee DPS Role Quest "Out of the Shadows" Dialogue

At some point Lorens says the line:

We were led by none other than her old man, Bloefhis Bloefhiswyn, the most feared captain on the 'igh seas.
since the -wyn suffix means "daughter of" shouldn't Bloefhis' last name be rendered as Bloefhisyn instead?

While -wyn may indeed mean "daughter of" (I'll take your word for it), there are numerous and widespread examples of males with -wyn at the end of their names.

If this report is due to some in-game tradition of -wyn only being used for female characters, I was unaware of that, and I stand corrected and withdraw my refute.

If this report is due to the real-world use of -wyn, I urge you to Google the name "Cledwyn" for starters, followed by "Owyn". Actually if you search for "boy" names with the suffix -wyn, you'll find a huge list. Granted, Wales has cornered the market on this suffix, but you will find males with -wyn on their name in every country. When you Anglicize it and modernize it one step further to "-win", then you're into territory of very common names having this suffix. Edwin stands as probably the most common example.

Yes, that's exactly what it is. It might be prudent for you read up on the game's naming conventions to raise your awareness before replying to such a thread again. For Roegadyn names specifically there's this post.

Yes, according to the Roegadyn Naming Conventions sticky, Blue Fish, Son of Blue Fish should be rendered Bloefhis Bloefhisyn (also note the Spelling Rule mentioned in the Roegadyn Dictionary thread which says to delete doubled letters when one word ends with the same letter that starts the next word).
