Here just solved 99% of the current rage from 2002 error. STOP CLOSING THE CLIENT for god sake. What is so hard about this?

ok cool get a packet loss that causes the client to desync from the login queue. Ok add a message that literally says that and says attempting to reconnect.

Closing the entire client and requiring people to try and login as soon as possible is just insane.

You are LITERALLY FORCING people to stay at their computers to watch a queue and if it disconnects quickly log back in. We cannot do ANYTHING ELSE!

Yeah... the most recent update on that issue is kind of a slap in the face. Let's look at the lovely quote:

Even if you are temporarily disconnected due to Error 2002 at times of such instability, the lobby server will continue to wait for a few tens of seconds to a minute for your connection to be restored.

So, instead of implementing a proper queue that handles disconnects/packet loss with a acceptable grace period and instead of forcing the client to close, they virtually put all the blame on the player's internet connection. That's quite something.

I honestly can care less about queues and hell I even tease WoW players about how popular FF14 is but wtf is this system that does not keep the client open and just try and reconnect? That does not require some new computer server to accomplish.

Just fix the client. Closing the client then putting the onerous on the user to rush back in is just crazy especially when the server is saving your spot in the queue. No wonder people are so enraged they are forced to watch a queue and if they get booted rush back in or start over from scratch.

It is like watching grass grow.

having to pay for a VPN is lame. this problem is been going on for years and it makes me wonder if SE gets kick backs from VPNs but no other game i have ever played has this kind of problem

I almost wonder if that will work because it seems they have a threshhold for packet loss that is just a normal thing of the internet that is dumping connections and tanking the client. The excuse that the internet is dropping and thus closing the client does not even remotely hold water when I one TV playing Twitch while my kids watch Disney+ and I am on Twitter on my phone.

I'm sure it's definitely just as easy as you say it is and they're refusing to implement this change simply to spite you and you alone.

Closing the client is explained you literally can not get into the login server it's at capacity it can't hold any more people it's capped at 17000 or something they used some other servers to increase it to 21000, if you try to get into the LOGIN SERVER that is full it kicks you and closes the client to prevent damage to the server. There is nothing they can do about that except NEW SERVERS. Please read the whole article.

I can tell you it doesn't work for me. When I get a 2002 it closes the client, and when I log back in I can never connect to my data center for hours.
