Packet loss...attempting to reconnect

Ohhhh. So it's my internet's fault. Gotcha. Weird that I don't have ANY other issues with my internet except when being in queue in FFXIV. In fact, I would say my internet is fairly rock solid.

It also doesn't explain why there is no auto reconnect feature like most anything else circa 2007. If you're gonna kick me out, at least give me my spot back once I get back in. I really don't think this is too much to ask for... and "a few tens of seconds" doesn't cut it.

You didn't read it did you, you actually sound pretty ridiculous right now. I just sat in a 2900 queue with no 2002 errors and got in so I guess they like me better than you. Sounds ridiculous doesn't it.

I get the bit about 17,000 and 21,000. Again, that makes sense for getting INTO the queue, but not once already inside it.
I get the bit about the blaming of players' internet connections and I find it insulting at best from SE.

What else am I not understanding?

It's not that you are missing something you are refusing to accept the possibility that somewhere in you internet connection there is not a packet loss which is pretty ridiculous since you have no control over other entities servers and neither does SE

I can accept that reality, but it doesn't really excuse it from killing the client. I can't think of any other program out there that such a minor amount of packet loss should kill it. If it really is that sensitive to packet loss, I will defer back to my statement of it being poor programming.

And again... kick me out, close my client... but give me my spot back once I can get back in.

I really don't think that is an unreasonable request.

And never mind, my previous post / theory crafting about limiting other app / program access to the internet is sadly pointless... I just continued my experiment today, had literally nothing else connecting to the internet, and after 45min still got the 2002 error. On top of that, every immediate login attempt I made resulted in further 2002 errors, until I had lost my place in the queue.

I swear, if I didn't know better, it felt like it was actively trying to disconnect me because I wasn't sitting at my computer. This is so damn frustrating. >_<
