Role players please DO NOT do this!

I was tanking a roulette with randoms and got Aetherochemical Research Facility. There was a couple of players in that run that were role playing as if they were doing their own storyline type of thing and kept trying to rope me and the other player into their role playing. Neither of us was interested as they should've been able to tell when we weren't talking.

To make matters worse these people kept poking hints at us like 'These warriors are mighty quiet.' or 'I wonder why they're not talking...' This drove my anxiety up really bad. And I just kept doing emotes at them to try to keep the mood light between the entire party. Their persistence felt like borderline harassment to my oversensitive ass. But I cant get that upset since I didn't ask them to stop in the first place. The other party member was not having any of it. You should've seen how fast he left after the dungeon was over. Left via the duty menu so quickly he did.

The run was not pleasant for me at all. I do role play but mainly with friends, and definitely not in duty finder dungeons with randoms I literally met 5 seconds ago. So please... don't try to force/rope other people into your role play. Or at least just me.

I've seen a few good points from some of you. And I do admit I could have handled the situation better. I'll work on my temperament to better myself. To the specific group of role players this thread is about, or anyone else this upset, I apologize for bringing it up in the first place. I was wrong, I shouldn't have done it. In the future I'll force myself to be more verbal about stuff like that. And deal with the escalated situation if it gets escalated at all. Again to those of you who this thread upset, I'm sorry. To those of you who were remotely empathetic, thank you. You have no idea how much it means to me.

Sooo... two people had a conversation in party chat during a dungeon, which you successfully cleared so I assume they were doing mechanics etc. They then commented to each other that the other two weren't talking. You responded to their chatter with emotes.

Gotta say, if they weren't doing so 'in character' would this be a post at all? I've seen multiple conversations in dungeons where people are discussing stuff going on in their FC's with us random folk tagging along and nobody bats an eye. If they weren't insulting you or intentionally mucking up mechanics, this very much seems like an issue that blacklisting them or turning off chat could have solved.

As for the person leaving via the duty menu: When you're running 50 dungeons a day for exp/tomes/etc and don't care about loot, a lot of us nope out the second the boss dies.

There's no shame in just stating that you don't want to take part in the roleplay, they most likely would have left you alone. I understand a lot of people, especially these days, aren't fond of the social aspect of MMO's and would rather keep to themselves. But if you're uncomfortable and don't want to partake in anything; just say so and majority of the time people will get the hint.

If you don't say anything, then you can't expect people to understand your situation. If you're brave enough to write on the forums and express your discomfort, you should be confident enough to type a quick message that you don't want to talk - you just want the dungeon done and that's fair enough.

To all of you. I fully understood that it was an option to ask them to stop. I'm not that naïve. But my anxiety makes that hard. I kept having worries about making things awkward and/or ruining THEIR experience if I did so. Which is what stopped me. And I cant role play with randoms, because again, I have bad anxiety. The point of me even making this thread was to hopefully get anyone who had thoughts of doing this to not do so in the first place. My point was never 'should I have asked them to stop?'

Also those of you not being asses or unfunny comedians about this, thank you.
