I had taken a multi-year break and this has been the thing that made me the saddest when I came back. Playing WoW and running silent dungeons made me wish I was back in XIV where dungeons were fun and people actually spoke. So when I finally came back a year or so ago to find that it wasn't that way anymore, that maybe you will get a O/ and usually not even that, it bummed me out. You had some people who wanted to RP, and instead of making a comment that you didn't really want to, you decide to come to the forums and moan about it. This game turns into WoW more and more as each day passes, while I'm glad that the influx of WoW players has helped this game, I can see the flavor of that community creeping in.

I don't actively role play. most of the time I'm rushing through content to get tomes cap quickly but right now.
I taking in the story and if I could be part of their story I would likely join in a little.

On the one side I think RPing like that is funny as hell... I don't get it but sure to each their own, I tried to play it cool and cooperate a couple of times, so awkward haha

I dont know if you're implying I ever played WoW. If you are, just know that I've never played WoW. Also I find it difficult to type while doing a dungeon and playing with a controller at the same time.

So long as they weren't gimping the run they're doing fine. They have every right to use the chat box so long as they are not harassing you. And it seems they weren't, considering you said nothing to indicate you were uncomfortable with the situation. From someone who has a diagnosed generalized anxiety disorder: Suck. It. Up. If you're uncomfortable with something either say something or don't complain when others can't read your mind.

Someone else made a point if I can post on the forums, I could've posted in party chat to ask them to stop right? The difference is a dungeon is real time and I have to respond to the party in real time. On these forums I can take however long I need to steel my nerves to press that post button.

With that being said everyone. I've seen a few good points from some of you. And I do admit I could have handled the situation better. I'll work on my temperament to better myself. This is fantastic progress. Remember, repetition is key, the more you force yourself to speak up the easier it becomes. You are more than capable to overcome your anxiety and I'm honestly hyped that you're taking action to better yourself.

You have to learn how to properly cope with your own problems, that's not another person's responsibility. If they're not actively hindering the actual run, griefing, etc... and are just having a spot of fun that's bothering you -- either learn to communicate, or run with trusts until you can.

I don't understand the anxiety part? I think people were raised much differently in this new generation. Either ignore party chat or tell them you don't RP. Simple as that.

Blessing to get rp chat than dead silence that makes you feel that you might as well be running with ai or annoyance from an overly aggressive tank or dps that is trying to hit top 3 speedrun spot.
