    Going forward in 2.0, that's correct. 8 characters max per server, with a total of 40 characters spread across all servers at no additional cost. This isn't just for legacy players, but for the $15 account in 2.0 as well. (Legacy accounts just get it at $9.99)

    My subscription officially starts on May 14th since I'm a new user. I've read I will be able to get Legacy status in time for the Beta, but they'd better not be lying to me or I'll be upset I want in on this good deal

    So we don't get the 8 chars per server till 2.0 starts right considering you can't even make any new chars now.

    Out of curiosity, why in the world are people excited about the number of characters you can make? In other games, I get it, that's the only way to experience a new class. Thinking of making another class in FFXIV seems like a waste.

    I have 6 lvl 50s. The thought of doing all of the class quests and jobs quests makes my head spin. I understand the appealing thought of creating ONE extra character to experience the new world from scratch... but what's the point of ever making more than two characters if your original character can be and do everything in the game, AS ANY CLASS.

    Maybe someone can shed some light on something I'm not seeing... Plus, I have plans on going male miqote, which doesn't require a second character since we're going to be given that option at the start of 2.0....

    What am i missing? (other than mules for market wards / extra storage / etc.?)
