hi all.. been thinking about this a lot, and i have come up with what i believe to be a good idea. so please give it a gander and let me know what you think. hopefully if enough people like the idea / direction it will get the devs attention. i'll try to keep it as short as i can.
lets start with dd
monk: is and should be best single target dd. little to no aoe.. i would make it none actually
drg and brd second in single dd. drg provides some aoe, brd provides some support.
war and blm, third in single, best aoe dd.. i'll explain more... blm has great aoe as is.. make "standard" single a little lower that drg or brd.. reason being less run time.. should equal out. as for war.. i'll get into that in a sec.
pld last in aoe, around war or blm in single target dps.. again will explain more in a sec.
whm i would leave as is.. only healer atm...
now additions to job traits..
would give monk stun and slow abilities.
drg i would give stun and bleed / dot
war i would give enfeebling side or rear only abilities
blm i would give blind
pld a lesser aoe healing effect self cast, better damage mitigation
brd and whm stays the same for abilities
now to tanking...
i would nerf war's single target / frontal damage, than increase aoe / add aoe damage abilities
pld i would increase single / front damage, add low damage aoe ie: circle blade
where would this put us...
advantages to multiple jobs.. more jobs, the easier the fight. would make job stacking hurt the party
dungeons as is. war and blm ideal for multiple mobs, pld and mnk ideal for single boss. war can tank the whole run.. but difficulties with bosses.. pld can tank whole run, but problems with multiple mobs. can be done either way, advantage is to have both.
single boss runs ie: ifrit. pld would be ideal, the other six jobs as well for varying buffs / debuffs and can bring in another dd for eighth if tank and healer can handle it. or war can tank, but get hit harder, harder time, would need eighth as whm, or pld playing dd plus support.
as for primal's, i wont lie i really only know ifrit. but my idea should be good for all such fights. would make the lesser aoe attack either non existent, or make it hit entire group (preferably), but just enough so JOB self heals struggle to keep up, making extra heals / knowing your job more important. would eliminate ranged stacking.
so here is my idea. if you give it a sec and think about it, i think it would be a good idea / direction to go. let me know what you think.
