    my job balance fix

    hi all.. been thinking about this a lot, and i have come up with what i believe to be a good idea. so please give it a gander and let me know what you think. hopefully if enough people like the idea / direction it will get the devs attention. i'll try to keep it as short as i can.

    lets start with dd
    monk: is and should be best single target dd. little to no aoe.. i would make it none actually
    drg and brd second in single dd. drg provides some aoe, brd provides some support.
    war and blm, third in single, best aoe dd.. i'll explain more... blm has great aoe as is.. make "standard" single a little lower that drg or brd.. reason being less run time.. should equal out. as for war.. i'll get into that in a sec.
    pld last in aoe, around war or blm in single target dps.. again will explain more in a sec.
    whm i would leave as is.. only healer atm...

    now additions to job traits..
    would give monk stun and slow abilities.
    drg i would give stun and bleed / dot
    war i would give enfeebling side or rear only abilities
    blm i would give blind
    pld a lesser aoe healing effect self cast, better damage mitigation
    brd and whm stays the same for abilities

    now to tanking...
    i would nerf war's single target / frontal damage, than increase aoe / add aoe damage abilities
    pld i would increase single / front damage, add low damage aoe ie: circle blade

    where would this put us...
    advantages to multiple jobs.. more jobs, the easier the fight. would make job stacking hurt the party
    dungeons as is. war and blm ideal for multiple mobs, pld and mnk ideal for single boss. war can tank the whole run.. but difficulties with bosses.. pld can tank whole run, but problems with multiple mobs. can be done either way, advantage is to have both.

    single boss runs ie: ifrit. pld would be ideal, the other six jobs as well for varying buffs / debuffs and can bring in another dd for eighth if tank and healer can handle it. or war can tank, but get hit harder, harder time, would need eighth as whm, or pld playing dd plus support.

    as for primal's, i wont lie i really only know ifrit. but my idea should be good for all such fights. would make the lesser aoe attack either non existent, or make it hit entire group (preferably), but just enough so JOB self heals struggle to keep up, making extra heals / knowing your job more important. would eliminate ranged stacking.

    so here is my idea. if you give it a sec and think about it, i think it would be a good idea / direction to go. let me know what you think.

    Fully developed, concise ideas for starters.

    The job/class balance isn't that bad, with the exception of War <-> Pld tanking.

    Small tweaks to dmg algorithms need to be made for sure. However, what needs to be balanced is the content. For instance:

    Garuda is a pretty balanced fight. (when not exploiting) The plumes are have high magic dmg resistance, so physical dmg is preferred. Latter in the battle when she spawns her clones, 1 is resistant to physical dmg the other to magic. So a balance needs to be found between physical and magic.

    Now on fights like Chimera, it's all about the ranged DDs. Melee suffer in this fight because of dangerous AOEs, environmental hazards, and limited access to AOE skills. The fight itself is doable without having to stack classes, but the fight becomes much harder and much more dangerous.

    The ant princess is also easier with stacking BLM to control soldier ant swarms and dealing with the guardian add. The fight is doable with melee, but becomes much easier when you stack classes such as Blm.

    I think SE will have a much easier time balancing the content to the classes than the classes to the content.

    Things are fine as is with exception to pld... Some jobs are better than others in dungeons but for hamlet for instance I fought with War/Mnk/Lnc/Brd and they all came out the same damage give or take a thousand. They all have unique traits that make them more/less useful depending on whats going on. I really don't see a need to change the jobs just because one is more useful in the current primal. Lnc was a beast in Ifrit and still is in the right hands. Now Blm is good in all but a fragile glass box. Moogle can be War/Mnk/Arc burned. Garuda is a good base of blm dmg but War and Brd are needed for add control and the mirror phase, for those of us who kill it the legit way.

    Pld doesn't need to be "fixed" per-say but it does need more HP. I tanked Ifrit the other day with no issues as long as the dd's held off for 15 sec at the start to get a wardrum off. People's real issues is not being able to read mobs hit-boxes to get their combos off w/o interruption so their dmg gets a hardcore nerf where as a bard and blm only need to have distance/accuracy respectively.

    but wouldnt you agree... adding abilities to jobs that would be wanted, and changing melee range aoe damage in primal fights to hit everyone would help even things out? besides the tanking issues which obviously need looked at. and i think my idea for them is decent at least for a general direction
