Issue with Rydia's outfit (Aphorism caster/healer)

It's wonderful to get yet another outfit from one of final fantasy's major characters, this time with Rydia from FFIV.



As seen the outfit is mostly faithful to the previous designs. However there is one glaring issue.

The collar.



That collar is not present in any of the previous iterations, it just looks awkward, takes your eyes from the rest of the outfit and as seen in the picture, clips with hairstyles off any length.

And this isn't the first time they've added an awkward looking collar, with the worst offender being the napkin stuck to the back of the otherwise gorgeous stormblood white mage outfit.

The collar takes it from "summoner" to "magician". Brb getting a hat and a rabbit.

With that said, I think it is very pretty and the collar seems to disappear from some angles.

yeah that annoyed me too, im using the Zadnor hairstyle, which was perfect as far as dodging clipping goes, and then this D:

I don't think it looks bad at all to be honest... I kind of like it? It really brings the outfit together.

That's because it's Rosa's collar (as rare as is it to see her with it in most media). The Casting/Healing sets are reskins of eachother. Just as Rydia now has a collar, Rosa lost her shoulder pads.

It's the same deal for Fending/Maiming. White Cecil or Purple Cecil, though I guess Kain's helmet was already in the game. See: Dragonlancer set.

Yep, I agree completely. I think the outfit looks great but that collar is the one thing that will keep me from ever actually using it for glamour.

Looking at the arts for rosa i can only see the collar being present in two Amano art-pieces and the gba menu sprite and is otherwise missing from everything else. And can't see anything else from it that matches the set presented in XIV. For mixing Ridya and Rosas sets then they have decided to go with something quite obscure.
