On Windows, it is possible to simply change the sound source on the task bar and then change back to fix it.

Don't even have to leave the game.

I can confirm that changing the sound source, and then changing it back, fixed it for me when my music cut out yesterday.

Doesnt work for everyone. For me, switching sound source actually causes the issue rather than fixing it.
