Honest question. It feels like there's no balance between future proofing old content and making new content alluring.

Take leveling for example--you'd think that from 80-90 the best way to level, in lieu of a new PotD/HoH would be to do Endwalker dungeons and Endwalker fates. Because it's new content and they want people to do it...but those are far from the most efficient ways to level. Endwalker fates are few and far between and dungeons do not give sufficient exp at all. What's the most effective way to level then? Zadnor. Zadnor zone 3 fates give as much as/more exp than Endwalker fates AND they're more frequent.

Then when it comes to future proofing, somehow they fail on that too. Wouldn't you think they would *want* people to always have a desire to do old content? Perhaps by even keeping something as simple as *minions* and *mounts* from that content somewhat exclusive? Want the Dodo mount--well then you have to run HoH and help the queues there! Want a specific minion? Well you better go run that one dungeon that no one is queueing for, which also helps THAT queue. Want a Eureka bunny fate mount? better do Eureka and fill that world!

But what does SE do? Add lootboxes and moogle tomestones event to ensure that NO ONE does that old content, because instead they'll just buy the lootboxes or run Coil T2 a hundred times to get the loot they want.

It's mind boggling that Square has no interest in future proofing their game to the point that they're making even BRAND NEW content extremely easy to finish. I should not have been able to level an alt from 80 - 90 in less than a day.

So again--genuine question, does Square not want people to remain subbed? Do they not want to future proof content at all?
