Terms of service, like literally any contract, are legally binding unless reason can be shown why they wouldn't be legally binding, i.e. things like insufficient notice, misrepresentation, coercion/undue influence, unconscionability, etc. And nearly all decently drafted contracts will have what is called a severability clause, which allows the contract to remain binding separate from any parts of it which are found to be legally unenforceable. Which I just looked and FF XIV TOS indeed has a severability clause.

I don't know where you got that misinformation rachcouture, but please don't pass it on anymore.
An oversimplification, not untrue. They've rarely held up in court, and especially when it concerns EU law, most (if not all) TOS break the cardinal rules of being in good faith and having no unfair terms.

Rather the average person can fight one, however, at least without aid from a non-profit, is another story.

Anyway, it's a troll thread, so let's all just roll our eyes, laugh, and move on, yes?
